Chapter 118: Traces of Destruction

January 17, 2020 · 5 min read · 986 words

"This book is a high-level meditation method resource, applicable only to warlocks with the bloodline of the Giant Snake of Kemo and its subspecies..."

The opening of the document made a look of wild joy appear on Leilin Farell's face.

"The advanced meditation method I've always dreamed of has finally come into my hands!"

Leilin only felt a surge of hot blood rush to his head, wishing he could immediately shout a few times to vent the excitement inside.

"Warning!!! Warning!!! 5 minutes and 01 seconds remain until spatial collapse! The critical threshold set by the main body has been reached!!!" The chip's reminder sounded once again in Leilin's ear.

"Damn it!!!" Leilin immediately started running.

When he ran out of the study, he even took a special backward glance at the unconscious Bozayin lying on the ground.

"Dying inside the secret realm is the best way to hide the murderer's identity, and since I didn't kill him directly, the chance of being found by prophecy magic is much lower!"

Leaving the study, Leilin again arrived at the Dillian Garden filled with various flowers.

Without a second thought, Leilin reached out and pocketed a few of the most precious ones, not stopping his stride as he passed straight through the Dillian Garden.

Running through the metal corridor, Leilin returned to the cave where the Corpse of the Hollar Black Snake had originally been placed.

"Not right, it's still missing something!!!" Leilin ran straight to the black snake. The light from the Star Fall Pendant condensed on his right hand, and along the wound, he tore open the black snake's belly, pulling out a scarlet heart from inside.

This material processing was rather troublesome; Bozayin and the others had planned to take it away when they returned.

"No time left!" Leilin watched the countdown about to hit zero and uttered a few ancient syllables.

"Stalir Goodlian!"

This was the secret phrase to enter and exit the secret realm recorded from the very beginning in the Book of the Giant Snake. Unfortunately, with the secret realm self-destructing this time, it would never be needed again.

After uttering the incantation, Leilin was enveloped in a bolt of red lightning and vanished instantly from the cave.

Above the cliff, several bolts of red lightning converged, forming the shape of a magical array.

A phantom of a brown-haired apprentice gradually solidified under the wrapping of lightning and fell onto the cliff.

"Finally made it out!!!"

Leilin looked at the endlessly fluctuating void below, his expression complex.

This was the impact of the secret realm's self-destruction on the main world, very faint, almost undetectable.

But Leilin knew in his heart that the Dillian Garden, and everything inside it, had been completely annihilated from this world.

"What a shame! So many resources, and rare plants..."

Leilin looked at the void below where the fluctuations were gradually subsiding, an inexpressible regret on his face.

After all, that was a Fourth-level Wizard's secret realm!!!

Just the value of the various flowers planted in the Dillian Garden alone was at least several million Magic Stones, and it had the advantage of being continuously renewable.

With it, Leilin wouldn't have to worry about resources after becoming a formal Wizard.

"Luckily, it's not all loss!" Leilin looked at the several plants he was tightly clutching in his hand, his expression finally looking a little better.

In his hand, he also had a few very strange flowers, though their appearance wasn't great.

Leilin had been fleeing for his life at the time, only randomly grabbing a handful of the plants that looked the most valuable, naturally causing some damage to the materials themselves.

"And this—the Book of the Giant Snake!!!"

Leilin touched the hard black notebook on his chest.

Although this was just a decoy released by the Great Crimson Wizard to conceal the high-level meditation method within the oil painting, its value was still very high.

The Book of the Giant Snake not only recorded some of the Great Crimson Wizard's travel experiences and images of rare items he had seen, which could greatly broaden Leilin's horizons.

Furthermore, it contained detailed records of many experimental materials, enough to benefit Leilin immensely.

The most valuable things in the Book of the Giant Snake, however, were the templates for twelve First-level Spells and three Second-level Spells!!! These were exactly the things that wizard organizations on the South Coast desperately clutched in their hands, unable to be bought for any amount of Magic Stones.

Finally, Leilin's most important goal—the advanced meditation method—was also obtained within the secret realm.

This meant that the path ahead for Leilin, while not necessarily smooth, at least now had a direction, giving him more hope than other apprentices!!!

If any one of these items leaked out, Leilin would face only one fate: being wanted by all wizard organizations on the South Coast!!!

All formal Wizards, the heads of every academy, and even the strongest being Leilin had ever seen—the head of the Night Lighthouse—would desperately pursue this small apprentice.

Leilin only had to think of that scene for a moment to feel a tremor in his heart.

At the same time, he made a firm resolution to completely conceal this harvest.

"In that case!" A fierce glint flashed in Leilin's eyes as he turned to look at the several emaciated captives on the cliff.

They had been captured by Bozayin to be used as test subjects for the secret realm's traps, and in the end, Leilin had bound them all to the cliff.

He didn't know how much time had passed in the secret realm, but in Leilin's view, these people were on the verge of death. He feared that if he had been any later, he would have only seen corpses.

"I had originally intended to bring the defeated Bozayin to you to kill, but now it seems the secret realm's self-destruction is more secure!"
