This year, I finished one book and started writing a new one.
This year, I met a great many new friends, and I also still see familiar old friends.
This year changed my life more than any year before it. Arcane's achievements are something I never could have imagined back when I uploaded the first chapter in March: average subscriptions past ten thousand, monthly tickets staying in the top ten ever since September, a physical publication on the horizon, and even some peripheral merchandise in the works — every single day brought a different surprise.
Similarly, I also achieved update output I never could have imagined in the past. When I wrote *Erasing Fate*, it took a year and three months to produce just over 2.8 million characters. Now, in only nine months, I've already completed 2.2 million characters.
I have quite a few regrets with this book. Because of the thematic and main-line setup, a lot of plot threads simply couldn't be expanded upon — doing so would have diluted the book's overall atmosphere. I've also learned a great deal of experience from this book, and I hope to write even better in the later sections. I hope to keep improving.
But what I most want to say is still — thank you, everyone. Without your support, there would be no brilliance of *Arcane*. I remember that back in October, a friend said they hoped *Arcane*'s recommendation count would hit a million before 2014. I did some quick math on the historical recommendation ticket rate and figured it wouldn't be possible until late January 2014. And yet, in the final days of 2013, we miraculously surged past a million recommendation tickets.
Thank you, everyone. Thank you to every friend who participated in discussions about the book's content. Thank you to every friend who silently cast votes and offered support.
There are only three days left in 2013. Double monthly ticket season has begun, and I will definitely update three chapters per day — at 12:30, 7:00, and 11:30, as always. Please show your support with monthly tickets~
Let's walk through 2013 together and end the year with a perfect summary.
PS: I know some friends frequently get falsely banned when casting recommendation tickets. From what I've heard through the grapevine, it seems that when voting for main-site works, also casting a vote for the women's fiction section can greatly reduce the chance of a false ban. So please, while you're at it, cast some pink tickets for *The Landlady's Road to Riches*~ Book ID: 2639802. She's also an *Arcane* reader who's been quietly supporting the book — I only recently found out she's an author herself.
PS2: A product of wild imagination and absurd plot twists: behind row after row of black doors seemed to lie entire worlds. Lucian pushed one open, and before him instantly appeared a silver-gray metal room. A young man wearing a black baseball cap raised a handgun and said, "Senior?"
