Last month I competed for a top-ten spot, and thanks to everyone's generous support, I managed to land in eighth place. So this month I'd planned to take it easy and repay some of my update debt. During the doubled-ticket period I only shouted out a couple of times and barely asked for monthly tickets at all — yet even so, we stayed in the top ten for the first five days, and we're still not far off now. Anyway, I'm heading back to Chengdu today. I'll take a couple of days to reset, then start making up missed updates. Oh, right — I have to catch a bus this afternoon, so the seven o'clock chapter will go up at eleven thirty tonight. Yep, no interruptions.
Finally, I want to recommend a xianxia novel I've been following recently — *Sovereign of the Stars*. It combines the concept of proving the Dao through dreams with a martial-arts xianxia setting in a fresh and creative way. What's especially rare is that the main world is written really well — the Dao Embryo, Dharma Idol, and all that left me genuinely excited.
Of course, the first three hundred thousand characters or so have quite a few rough spots, but the author is the type who gets better and better as they go, and the later portions are quite good. I'd recommend giving it a try — even the earlier flaws don't overshadow the overall quality; it's genuinely interesting. My one biggest pet peeve is that the first dungeon they picked was actually from the TV version of *Laughing in the Wind*... but anyway, = =
