In the Radiance Holy Land, within the private chambers of the Radiance Holy Maiden, Jiang Chen had already been unconscious for a full three days.
At this point, three days had also passed since that perilous battle.
During those three days, both the Radiance Holy Land and the Rising Sun Holy Land had been thrown into an uproar, because the demon race armies that had been entrenched in their territories had actually begun a complete withdrawal.
Whether it was the Winged Demon lineage or the Fire Demon lineage, every last one of them had pulled out of the two great divine kingdoms' lands entirely. It was as though some terrible plague had suddenly broken out in those territories, forcing them to evacuate spotlessly clean within the span of a day or two.
This scene was, without question, utterly inconceivable to the people of both divine kingdoms.
At first, they had suspected it was some kind of demon race scheme. But as their scouts continued to report back with confirmation, they discovered with astonishment that the demons weren't playing any tricks — they had genuinely retreated.
"Hard to believe… he actually did it. Sister, how is this possible? How did he manage it?" The Radiance Holy Maiden's heart trembled with shock, her mind reeling.
When Jiang Chen had taken the First Sun Flame, she had always assumed he meant to bring it to the Eternal Holy Land to reinforce their defenses. She had never in her wildest imagination expected that Jiang Chen would actually use the First Sun Flame to lure out the Fire Demon ancestor — and that he would actually succeed in killing him.
Not only had he slain the Fire Demon ancestor, but he had even taken out the Winged Demon ancestor along the way.
If the Four True Spirits hadn't dragged the Hawk Demon ancestor back as a captive, the Radiance Holy Maiden would never have been able to believe any of this.
In truth, the Holy Maiden Sitong's shock was no less profound than the Radiance Holy Maiden's. The difference was that her trust in Jiang Chen ran deeper — she hadn't believed from the start that he wanted the First Sun Flame for himself. Still, deep in her heart, she hadn't harbored much hope either. All she had wished for was that Jiang Chen, in provoking the Fire Demon ancestor, would at least manage to keep himself alive.
She had never imagined that Jiang Chen would actually pull it off — that he would truly create a miracle.
To both Holy Lands, the demon race had always seemed utterly insurmountable, impossible to contend with. Yet in Jiang Chen's hands, they had been like soft persimmons, squeezed and burst apart with a single touch.
Those had been four demon race ancestors. Either the Fire Demon lineage or the Winged Demon lineage could have sent a single ancestor their way and thrown both Holy Lands into absolute chaos.
And Jiang Chen had captured and killed all four of them.
Say he had no help? What about the Four True Spirits? Allies of that caliber — even if the ten great Holy Lands searched with lanterns in hand, they wouldn't have found even half a match.
Only then did Holy Maiden Sitong truly understand the heights Jiang Chen had now reached — heights that had already far surpassed the level of their ten great Holy Lands. He was an existence they had to crane their necks to look up at, perhaps even worship from afar.
What did it matter if the ten great Holy Lands' ten great ancestors returned?
Against the overwhelming force of the demon race, the ten great Holy Lands joining forces would be fortunate to handle one or two demon lineages at best. If all ten demon lineages mobilized together, they could absolutely sweep everything aside, crush it flat, and raze the ten great Holy Lands of Myriad Abyss Island to the ground without breaking a sweat. The ten demon lineages had precisely that kind of power.
