However, when saw striding toward Wu You's direction, a strange smile flickered across her pretty face.

With every step Jiang Chen took closer to Wu You, he could sense poison sources closing in on him from every direction, seeping toward him through various means.

Jiang Chen smiled faintly, knowing that Shi Qinglu was certainly watching the show right now, waiting for the moment the poison took effect and he collapsed.

Suddenly, a mischievous thought flashed through Jiang Chen's mind.

In an instant, countless streams of golden light surged around Jiang Chen. The radiant glow immediately blurred and obscured the surrounding scenery, and within that brilliance, Jiang Chen's figure vanished outright.

Shi Qinglu had been watching from afar. The sudden flash of golden light threw off her vision at once.

The golden light didn't last long, but by the time it dissipated, Jiang Chen was nowhere to be seen in Shi Qinglu's field of vision.

Even Wu You, who had been hanging from the tree, had disappeared as well.

Shi Qinglu's heart lurched, and a trace of color drained from her face. She furrowed her delicate brows, fully extended her divine sense, and began searching.

"This Jiang Chen really does have his tricks. I set up thirty-six different poisons around that area — any single one of them would be enough to bring him down. Never mind him; even a cultivator at the Ninth Level Heaven would be in serious trouble if those poisons hit them."

At critical moments, Shi Qinglu was always supremely confident in her mastery of poison.

This was precisely why she had the courage to challenge Jiang Chen despite knowing full well that he had defeated — her senior, no less.

From beginning to end, she had believed herself superior to Jiang Chen, and that her poison Divine Ability would absolutely bring him to his knees.

Now, even though Jiang Chen had vanished right under her nose, Shi Qinglu's confidence didn't waver in the slightest. She let out a soft hmph, her lithe body flickering as she transformed into a streak of light and shot toward the area.

At this point, Shi Qinglu couldn't be bothered hiding her presence anymore. Since Wu You had disappeared, the poison formations she had set up around the area must have been triggered instantly.

As long as Jiang Chen had rescued Wu You from that location, once those formations activated, the toxins would be more than enough to make him suffer terribly.

Even if Jiang Chen possessed heaven-defying Divine Abilities, he might endure for a moment, but he certainly wouldn't last long.

Shi Qinglu glided forward on her delicate steps, arriving at the scene to inspect the surroundings.

After looking around for quite some time, an utterly baffled expression spread across Shi Qinglu's face. There were absolutely no traces to be found anywhere.

Jiang Chen had vanished from the spot as if into thin air. And as for how Wu You had been rescued — what method had been used — she couldn't figure it out either.

However, one thing was certain: Wu You had indeed been rescued, and the poison formations around the area had been triggered. Of that, there was no doubt.

This only deepened Shi Qinglu's confusion. The thirty-six poison formations she had set up varied greatly in form and used entirely different methods of delivery.

Even if Jiang Chen could evade most of them, he might not necessarily detect the more insidious transmission methods.

Of these thirty-six poison sources, even a single one taking effect would have been enough to hold Jiang Chen in place.

"It's impossible for all thirty-six poison formations to activate and for him to come away completely unscathed." Shi Qinglu flatly refused to believe it. She didn't think Jiang Chen possessed such powerful Divine Abilities that he could trigger the poison formations and still have the reaction speed to dodge every last one of them — and even if he had the reaction speed, he would still need the poison resistance to match.
