Qin You and his group had six people in total, with clearly defined roles.
The two strongest cultivators held the central area, stationed at the core. Two genius cultivators flanked each side, responsible for observing movements from four directions.
This division of labor made their road robbery remarkably efficient. In just a day or two, the number of Trial Beads they had already accumulated was quite considerable.
Everyone had several Trial Beads to their name.
If this continued, after half a month, the number of Trial Beads in their hands could easily reach one to two hundred.
"Senior Brother Qin, there seems to be some movement over there. Let me go check it out." The cultivator surnamed Ding from the Extinction Sacred Land volunteered.
"Go ahead — see if any fat sheep have wandered in." Qin You was clearly the leader of this group, stationed at the center.
"Junior Brother Lin, you too — go look around and see if there's any business coming our way." The Junior Brother Lin Qin You referred to was the green-clad genius from the Hearing Sacred Land.
The green-clad Junior Brother Lin nodded and set off on his mission.
However, after a full half hour had passed, neither the Junior Brother Ding nor Junior Brother Lin that Qin You had sent out had returned.
Another white-haired cultivator from the Hundred Sacred Lands furrowed his brow. "What are they doing? No discipline whatsoever! Wasn't it established that each patrol shouldn't exceed half an hour? We're not here on vacation sightseeing — how can they be this undisciplined?"
This young white-haired cultivator had rather distinctive features. His words were clearly tinged with irritation.
Qin You was also somewhat annoyed. However, as the leader of the group, he had to be more magnanimous.
Some things the white-haired cultivator could say, but Qin You would find it inconvenient to say himself.
After all, the geniuses from other Sacred Lands weren't inherently inferior. It was merely that they respected the fearsome reputation of the Hundred Sacred Lands and ceded the leading role to them.
Otherwise, if they truly refused to play along, it wouldn't be impossible for them to walk away.
They continued to wait. After another quarter of an hour, the cultivator surnamed Ding and Junior Brother Lin still hadn't returned.
Furrows deepened on Qin You's forehead. "What on earth are those two up to? Did they make some kind of pact?"
If their other two companions from the same Sacred Lands weren't still present, they might have suspected that the pair had slipped away — that they no longer wished to cooperate.
"Big Brother Qin, my Senior Brother Lin has been gone a long time. I'd like to go see what's happened." Another cultivator from the Hearing Sacred Land spoke up.
A cultivator from the Extinction Sacred Land also volunteered.
"Wait." Qin You didn't support the idea. "Have you considered — if something happened to Junior Brother Ding and Junior Brother Lin, wouldn't you be walking into danger yourselves?"
Hearing Qin You say this, both of their faces changed drastically.
Something happened?
"Big Brother Qin, if something's happened to Senior Brother Ding, our squad will be in serious trouble. So I must go look."
The six of them had only banded together as a temporary alliance — a meeting of like minds. Simply put, they were here to ambush others, seize the spoils, and split the profits.
In truth, when it came to their core interests, it was their individual squads that mattered most. After all, squad results factored into the rankings.
So they were genuinely concerned about their squadmates — who were also fellow disciples. Seeing them not return, their hearts were filled with anxiety, and they wanted to investigate.
"You two really are stubborn." Qin You frowned, but he nodded. "Fine, be careful on your way. The moment you encounter anything unusual, remember to report back immediately. Don't act rashly — use your heads."
