Chapter 1789: Storming the Front Door

January 17, 2020 · 4 min read · 893 words

Ziyang District, the headquarters of the Silver Sword Gang.

Though had no intention of slaughtering the entire Silver Sword Gang, he still felt that simply walking away would leave that lingering anger unresolved.

So he decided to go back to the Silver Sword Gang headquarters and stir up some more trouble. Even if he couldn't wipe them out entirely, he had to teach them a lesson they'd never forget.

This Silver Sword Gang was absolutely despicable.

For someone of Jiang Chen's ability, sneaking into Ziyang District was effortless. The hard part was pinpointing the Silver Sword Gang's headquarters.

Normally, that would have been quite difficult — but right now, the Silver Sword Gang was in chaos. Strong fighters kept streaming out of their headquarters one after another.

With that, it was impossible for Jiang Chen *not* to figure out where their base was.

Before long, his target was locked onto a massive, somewhat hidden estate — the Silver Sword Gang's lair.

Jiang Chen probed the perimeter briefly, then decided to stop being polite.

With a sweep of his hand, the Primordial Magnetic Gold Mountain instantly transformed into an enormous mountain peak, dragging a sky full of golden radiance behind it as it crashed down upon the massive estate.

The method was crude, but it was also simple and direct.

The Primordial Magnetic Gold Mountain's current might was staggering — the moment it struck, it hammered the estate into a colossal crater.

Still unsatisfied, Jiang Chen raised the mountain and smashed it down again. And again.

Each strike came faster and harder than the last.

By the time the people inside the Silver Sword Gang headquarters realized what was happening, all three attacks had already landed. Half the estate had been reduced to rubble.

Cries of anguish filled the air, mingled with ghostly wailing.

Jiang Chen hovered above, his gaze cold and sharp, scanning the entire Silver Sword Gang headquarters.

It was clear he had come here with a iron resolve to cause trouble.

Whoosh whoosh whoosh whoosh!

A dozen figures shot out from the Silver Sword Gang headquarters. Every single one was a Celestial-realm powerhouse, and from their movements, they were obviously far from ordinary.

"Who goes there?"

"What god or devil dares cause a ruckus on Xiaotang Island?"

"Kid, was that you?"

"It's him! He's the one who killed Zhou Yue and the others!"

"Kid, Heaven has a clear path and you won't take it, but Hell has no door and you barge right in."

The senior figures of the Silver Sword Gang hurled insults one after another, their voices thick with fury. The hot-tempered ones were already rolling up their sleeves, ready to charge.

Jiang Chen regarded these people with cold indifference. A quick sweep told him that among them, there wasn't a single high-tier Celestial powerhouse.

The strongest was a sixth-level Celestial, with three or four mid-level Celestial cultivators. The rest were all early-stage Celestials.

If Jiang Chen were an ordinary fourth-level Celestial, being surrounded like this would have put him under enormous pressure — trouble in the extreme.

But for Jiang Chen, these opponents were nothing to fear. Combined, their fighting power might not even match that of .

Xiahou Zong had been only a fifth-level Celestial back then, yet in terms of combat ability, even a peak sixth-level Celestial might not have been able to defeat him.

After fighting and successfully slaying Xiahou Zong, Jiang Chen's own combat instincts had been elevated to a perfect new height.

He could safely say that he didn't even consider the people before him worthy of his attention.

"Go tell your gang leader to come out." Jiang Chen swept a cold gaze across them. "None of you are enough. Those of you who don't want to throw your lives away — get away from me. Now."

"You've got some nerve, kid!"

"Everyone together! Take him down!"

Clearly, Jiang Chen's arrogance had enraged the Silver Sword Gang's senior members. However, the sixth-level Celestial frowned and held back his agitated comrades.

He looked Jiang Chen up and down. "And just who are you, exactly? Coming here to cause trouble on Xiaotang Island's territory — don't you think you've gone too far?"

Jiang Chen laughed. "Too far? So the Silver Sword Gang is allowed to rob people and turn them into slaves, and *that's* not too far?"

"In your book, is it only the Silver Sword Gang that's allowed to bully others?"

His tone turned cold again as he suddenly raised his voice: "Listen up, Silver Sword Gang leader! You have ten breaths to come out. If you don't, I'll start the killing."

His voice was frigid, and an aura of lethal intent spread outward in a mad rush.

"Wait!"

A deep, resonant voice came from inside the estate. Then a pale silver figure swept into the sky like a whirlwind.

The newcomer was a middle-aged cultivator with an expressionless face. He had a few long strands of hair at his temples, though they weren't particularly thick. His most distinctive feature was his eyes — both sockets seemed to sink inward, giving his gaunt face an almost ethereal, Daoist-air about him.

"You're the Silver Sword Gang leader?" Jiang Chen sized up the newcomer with cold eyes. He could see that this man's cultivation was indeed formidable, and his bearing was extremely imposing.
