This is the last day of the month. I let out a long breath of stale air, feeling as though a weight has been lifted from my shoulders.
The small goal I brazenly set for myself — I've finally accomplished it!
One chapter a day for the entire month. Stable updates, never missing a single day.
It was hard.
There were many times when I almost couldn't hold on. Life demands attention from every direction — it always siphons away your energy and your time. To write with the same total dedication you had as a student throwing everything into studying? That's simply impossible. I'm an adult, and the adult world is filled with a certain thing called — it's not easy.
On top of that, the upcoming chapters of *Legends of Ren Zu* have genuinely consumed a tremendous amount of my blood, sweat, and brainpower.
Next month, a new installment of *Legends of Ren Zu* will meet you all.
*Legends of Ren Zu* grows harder the further it goes — the difficulty practically doubles with each arc. Because once a certain image or concept has appeared in earlier chapters, it basically becomes unusable afterward.
Being able to simultaneously outline *Legends of Ren Zu* and still hit my goal of one chapter per day — looking back on it now, I have to admit I feel a bit lucky.
Fortunately, I persevered. I actually pulled it off.
The pressure was truly immense!
For more than half of this month, I've been going to sleep past midnight. On many days — especially this past week — I was outlining until three or four in the morning.
Six and a half million characters of main text, all heading toward the finale. There are too many plot holes to fill, too many threads to tie up. But this month, I've filled quite a few, and several threads are already being drawn together.
Most of my energy went into *Legends of Ren Zu*. Sometimes my heart raced with anxiety, because the source material for *Legends of Ren Zu* is impossible to look up — much of the time, studying yields no obvious results. More often than not, what breaks through a barrier is just a single idea of mine, or something I learned ten or fifteen days ago, or a sentence I happened to glance at moments before.
The main text is something I can control. *Legends of Ren Zu* is not. The unease this brings creates enormous psychological pressure — many times I'd lie down in bed early, close my eyes, try to sleep, but couldn't for the life of me. So I'd get back up and keep outlining.
I'd think until both mind and body were completely drained, then hurl myself onto the bed — and only then could I finally fall asleep.
The results speak for themselves.
This month's update quality is something I'm fairly satisfied with. Both the plot structure and the subplot depictions received proper attention. In particular, the level of my chapter-ending cliffhangers has improved considerably.
I've also outlined a brand-new arc for *Legends of Ren Zu*.
Around the first half of October, there will be a grand spectacle unfolding at the Mad Demon Lair. The groundwork for the early chapters is already more than half prepared.
Finally, a small appeal:
I hope that all you readers out there will support the official release of *Reverend Insistency* as much as you can — please read it on the official platform whenever possible.
A single chapter takes me at least half an hour just to outline, and several more hours to write. But for you readers, reading it might take less than ten minutes, and the cost is just a few cents — in fact, many of you receive coins as free gifts.
*Reverend Insistency* won't be updating for all that much longer. I sincerely hope you'll all support the official version as much as you can!
