Even Fang Yuan's hair stood on end and his scalp tingled.

He had been followed!

Had his repeated outings over these past days drawn the attention of someone watchful?

Or were these people sent by his uncle?

In his mind, he even flashed to that First Transformation Gu Master from the inn — the young man called Jiang Ya.

In an instant, countless thoughts and guesses flickered through his mind, and he rapidly calculated solutions.

Fang Yuan could sense that this short sentence was filled with deep killing intent.

He cursed inwardly. Right now he was only at the First Transformation Initial Stage, without even a Life Gu — for a Gu Master, his combat power was essentially zero. How could he fight? Section Fifteen: History Is Written by the Victors

"Too weak, too weak!" he roared in his heart.

"You've already been poisoned by my unique poison Gu. Without my corresponding antidote Gu, in seven days you will inevitably rot into pus and die." The voice from behind spoke again.

Fang Yuan gritted his teeth, keeping his expression calm, his tone low: "You want the Wine Worm? I can give it to you."

He rose slowly, his movements very deliberate.

But just then, suddenly another person's voice rang out. This voice was filled with terror, trembling: "I'll give it to you, I can give you everything, just spare my life, Lord Hua Jiu Xing Zhe!"

"Wait, this is—" Fang Yuan's brows knotted into a knot, and he spun around abruptly.

On the stone wall before him, light and shadow shifted, projecting an image.

A fierce, imposing Gu Master stood atop a mountain peak. Beneath his feet, another Gu Master knelt prostrate.

Around the two of them were collapsed pits and shattered stone — clearly a fierce battle had just taken place.

Not far from the pair, a group of elderly onlookers stared at the scene, their faces filled with shock and fear.

The victorious Gu Master in the center threw his head back and laughed: "Hahaha, Guye Hero, Section Fifteen: History Is Written by the Victors — what a waste that you reached Fifth Transformation cultivation so young. I originally thought you were somebody, but I didn't expect you to be this pathetic. Hmph!"

This laughing Gu Master had narrow, elongated eyes and wore a pink robe with wide sleeves that swayed in the wind. His collar was open wide, revealing a chest as solid and white as jade.

Most striking of all was his bald head — gleaming and polished, without a single strand of hair.

"Hua Jiu Xing Zhe!" Fang Yuan instantly identified this Gu Master.

"Compared to Lord Hua Jiu, I'm nothing! I was out of my mind — how could I have been blind enough to offend Lord Hua Jiu! Lord Hua Jiu, please, for the sake of the hospitality my clan showed you before, spare my life!" The Gu Master kneeling on the ground trembled, cold sweat pouring from him as tears and snot streamed down his face in his desperate plea.

Fang Yuan narrowed his eyes and looked more carefully. He realized the Gu Master was wearing the patriarch's regalia of the Guye Clan, and judging by his appearance, this was unmistakably the Fourth Generation Patriarch!

And those elderly onlookers should have been the clan Elders of that era.
