Chapter 447: A Bit Weak

January 17, 2020 · 6 min read · 1,233 words

ROAR!

A thunderous boom erupted like a bolt of lightning, detonating right in the ears of the Fur Folk Gu Immortals.

At the same moment, a colossal dragon head, vast as a small mountain, came crashing sideways.

Its enormous shadow fell over the group, and before it even struck, the shockwave was already tearing through the air. The fierce, overwhelming pressure made their legs tremble, leaving them with no will to resist.

"It's over!" All three Fur Folk Gu Immortals broke into cold sweats, and one of them simply collapsed to the ground.

Just as the three were about to perish right here, a cool, clear voice suddenly reached their ears — "Useless."

Far from offended, the three Fur Folk Gu Immortals were overjoyed, crying out in unison: "We're here! Fairy Ningbing, come save us quickly!"

In this moment of peril, a white, graceful figure shot toward them like lightning — it was Dragon Girl Bai Ningbing.

She gave a cold snort and raised both hands.

CRACK!

In the next instant, a massive wall of ice surged upward, blocking the path in front of the three Fur Folk Gu Immortals.

BOOM.

In the span of a single breath, the enormous dragon head slammed into the ice wall.

The wall couldn't withstand the impact and shattered with a thunderous crash.

But by then, Bai Ningbing had already seized the three Fur Folk Gu Immortals and was retreating rapidly, pulling distance between them. At the same time, her eyes shot out beams of icy light that fell directly onto the dragon head.

A fierce layer of white frost quickly coated the monstrous head, and its speed dropped dramatically.

Bai Ningbing breathed a silent sigh of relief.

In that lightning-fast exchange, she had already gauged the situation — the dragon head before her was merely Seventh Transformation level. With her combat strength, handling it was more than sufficient.

But —

"The Primordial Desolate Beast Ten-thousand-headed Coiling Dragon possesses over ten thousand dragon heads. I can deal with this one, but if the others join the fight, I'll inevitably be overwhelmed — two fists can't fight four hands."

Bai Ningbing gazed up at the sky, her brow furrowed.

This was not the normal Taiqiu world — it was a dark formation-path space.

The Ten-thousand-headed Coiling Dragon was a formation-path Primordial Desolate Beast capable of creating formation spaces, much like how the Supreme Sky Hawk could enter and exit grotto-heavens. It was an innate ability of Primordial Desolate Beasts.

"I have to break through here and return to the outside world as quickly as possible."

"I hope Ying Wuxie and the others can hold them off!"

At that moment, outside in Taiqiu.

Hei Loulan and the others hovered high in the air, facing the hundreds of enormous dragons that stood upright on the ground below. Each unleashed their full power, bombarding the dragons with killing move after killing move.

The scene was spectacular.

Taiqiu was covered in giant grass stalks as tall as trees, growing thickly together like a jungle.

Among the giant grass, hundreds of dragons — some clad in golden scales, some bearing horns on their foreheads, some with three dragon eyes, others baring rows of sharp fangs — all different in appearance. Their bodies swayed as they reared upright, towering far above the giant grass.

These were all heads of the Ten-thousand-headed Coiling Dragon. Their tails were driven deep underground, for the ten thousand dragon bodies were ultimately one and the same.

Hei Loulan and the others circled overhead like hawks, continuously raining down dazzling killing moves that blossomed like fireworks.

The dragons roared, not passively taking the blows but fighting back fiercely. Most breathed torrents of dragon fire, while others spat out poisonous mists or shot beams of light from their dragon eyes.

"Leaving aside the head that went after Bai Ningbing, there are still three Seventh Transformation heads! The rest are all Sixth Transformation."

"No wild Immortal Gu have been spotted yet, but stay vigilant."

"Don't get too close — if you're dragged into the Ten-thousand-headed Coiling Dragon's formation space, you're done for!"

Hei Loulan, Ying Wuxie, and the others fought while rapidly exchanging information.

The Langya Earth Spirit had sent a plea for help to Fang Yuan, and naturally Fang Yuan could not refuse. First, this rescue mission was a sect quest with generous rewards that tempted him. Second, he was already a Supreme Elder of the Langya Sect and couldn't simply stand by — that would violate the alliance agreement he bore.

So Fang Yuan raced toward them while urgently ordering Ying Wuxie and the others to rush in first and hold the line.

The battle intensified. Not much time had passed, but Ying Wuxie and the others were feeling the pressure mounting rapidly.

"This is bad! More and more dragon heads are waking up!"

"If this keeps up and the Primordial Dragon Head awakens, we won't just fail to save anyone — we'll lose our own lives!"

"When will the Sect Master arrive?"

"We're deep in Taiqiu, far from the teleportation Immortal Formation. It'll take some time either way. Watch out!"

As they spoke, another Seventh Transformation dragon head awakened, bursting from deep underground with a roar and spitting out a stream of silver dragon breath.

Hei Loulan dodged it by the narrowest of margins. Ying Wuxie paused briefly, then said to White Rabbit and Xue'er: "You two fall back. Support us from a distance — that's enough."

Xue'er was only at Sixth Transformation, and her heart had been shaking throughout. Fighting was already a strain on her.

Though she was a prodigy of the Snow Folk, she was in no way comparable to the likes of Hei Loulan. Hearing this, she didn't push herself, simply grabbing White Rabbit and retreating far from the fray.

"Is it really okay for us to pull back like this?" White Rabbit asked, full of worry.

Xue'er shot her a look. "Let's just follow Fairy Wuxie's orders. With our level of strength, going in there would only make us a burden."

The group held on a while longer, but more and more dragon heads awakened and joined the battle.

Over a thousand dragon bodies swayed, over a thousand dragon heads roared. Hei Loulan and the others were now completely on the back foot.

Fortunately, the Ten-thousand-headed Coiling Dragon was an extremely peculiar Primordial Desolate Beast. Once born, it could not move. Though its heads numbered in the thousands, they could only defend this one location — they could not give chase.

Even so, the attacks from over a thousand dragon heads were devastating. Hei Loulan and the others retreated again and again, barely holding on.

"This is getting worse and worse for us."

"Bai Ningbing still hasn't come out — she must be trapped in the enemy's formation and unable to break free!"

Hei Loulan and the others guessed correctly. Bai Ningbing was locked in a bitter battle within the formation space, having to protect the lives of the three Fur Folk Gu Immortals, which severely limited her options.

Just then, an indescribable aura spread across the entire battlefield.

An enormous dragon head, far exceeding all the others in size, slowly rose into the air.

The Primordial Dragon Head had entered the fray!

Its eyes were half-lidded and drowsy, not yet fully awake, but the sheer psychological pressure it radiated was overwhelming.

"Damn it…"
