Bai Qingxue and Xiao Song lured the monsters from both sides. Before they even got within thirty yards, the mechanical monsters spotted them — their eyes flashing red as every one of them turned to lock onto the intruders.
"Alert! Alert! Intruders detected!"
Once the alarm sounded, every mechanical puppet and mechanical soldier within a forty-yard radius was activated. The surrounding mechanical monsters locked onto the two of them, and before long, hundreds of mechanical puppets and soldiers were chasing them in a frenzy.
Zhao Yueru watched with a jolt of alarm. Thank goodness they hadn't rushed in to lure monsters earlier — it would have been a total wipe.
"Brother Hei Yan, will they be all right luring monsters like this?" Zhao Yueru watched as Bai Qingxue and Xiao Song were pursued relentlessly by the mechanical army. If not for their timely dodges, they'd already be finished.
"Don't worry. With the Speed Scrolls, these mechanical monsters can't catch them," Shi Feng said confidently.
After a good while, sure enough, not a single mechanical monster had caught up to the pair. Everything went exactly as Shi Feng had predicted. After drawing in all the peripheral mechanical monsters, the two circled the wide, open pit while the mechanical puppets and soldiers charged after them in a massive, unstoppable wave.
The two were highly skilled at luring monsters — it didn't take long before they merged two separate groups into one.
Zhao Yueru clicked her tongue in secret admiration. She had Speed Scrolls too, but they were far too expensive. Even their group only had one apiece, saved for emergencies. She never expected Shi Feng to casually produce two of them, and use them just for luring monsters. What an extravagant waste!
But with those Speed Scrolls, the two had indeed safely lured every last monster.
The problem, however, was this: with so many monsters gathered, how were they supposed to deal with them?
They didn't have any area-of-effect magic, and even if they did, they wouldn't dare use it — it would throw aggro into chaos. The main tank hadn't learned a high-level skill like group taunt yet, so they'd all end up dead regardless.
Shi Feng naturally understood everyone's doubts. He simply smiled mysteriously and stepped forward.
"Ten seconds from now, lure all the monsters to the center," Shi Feng said in the party chat.
"Understood," Bai Qingxue replied.
After speaking, Shi Feng pulled a dark red, exquisitely decorated scroll from his inventory and unfurled it in one motion. The surface was covered in incantations, and just by displaying it, the surrounding magical fire elements surged violently.
Even a layman could tell at a glance that this was something extraordinary.
As an Elementalist, Zhao Yueru was stunned. What kind of magic scroll was this? The magic scrolls sold in shops couldn't achieve anything close to this — mere incantations causing the surrounding fire elements to gather rapidly and violently on their own.
In just this brief moment, the fire elements that had gathered exceeded the power of her strongest spell, Dragon Roar of Flames, by several fold. She couldn't even imagine how devastating it would be if unleashed.
At that moment, Shi Feng activated the magic scroll and drew the Magic Artifact, Abyssal.
Instantly, the fire elements on the scroll poured out like liquid mercury. Serpentine flames over ten meters long drilled into Abyssal. The blade erupted with brilliant, dazzling flames, instantly transforming into a sword of fire that emitted the faint cry of a phoenix, echoing through the surroundings.
Such a magnificent display naturally caught everyone's attention.
No one had expected Shi Feng to still be hiding such a trump card.
In truth, Shi Feng didn't want to use this second-tier magic scroll either. Each one used was one fewer. He had scoured the entirety of the Moonlight Woods just to obtain four of them. Using one left only three remaining.
By now, Bai Qingxue and Xiao Song had lured all the mechanical monsters to the center and were running toward Shi Feng.
The mechanical monsters drew closer and closer — forty yards... thirty yards... twenty yards... ten yards... but Shi Feng made no move, simply standing still, the sword in his hand blazing with blinding radiance.
The instant Bai Qingxue and Xiao Song dashed past him, Shi Feng suddenly moved. The burning sword of fire swept down in a devastating arc.
Second-tier magic spell — Flowing Blade Fire Dance!
In the blink of an eye, the slash erupted with countless scarlet flames. The scorching inferno surged like a vast ocean, instantly devouring the entire mechanical army and reducing everything within a sixty-yard cone ahead to ash.
Even the mechanical soldiers with three thousand hit points couldn't withstand the damage from this strike, all of them crumpling into piles of scrap metal.
Shi Feng's experience points surged dramatically — he leapt to level 6, thirty-seven percent. The others all broke through level 5 and reached level 6 as well. The leveling speed was exhilarating.
Glancing at the ground covered in dropped loot, their hearts swelled with joy. Shi Feng was incredible — one strike to instantly wipe out level 9 Elites. Sure, it relied on an external item, but being able to obtain such an item was a skill in itself.
If they could do this a few more times, they'd reach level 10 in no time!
Bai Qingxue was also glad she had chosen to help Shi Feng with his quest. The experience points alone had made it more than worthwhile.
"Brother Hei Yan, what kind of scroll was that? It was so powerful!" Zhao Yueru blinked her big eyes and looked at Shi Feng with open curiosity.
"A second-tier magic scroll," Shi Feng replied casually.
"Brother Hei Yan, where can you buy them?" Zhao Yueru had become completely captivated after witnessing the destructive power. Even spending ten silver coins would be worth it.
