"What a cunning old fox!"
Shi Feng watched the ten-meter-tall crimson flames rush toward him, a world-destroying torrent that had completely cut off his retreat.
During the earlier positioning phase, Beichen Tianlang had deliberately stood at the far corner of the arena, and one of the famous sword Scorched Fire's skills — Scalding Wave — was an area-of-effect attack that perfectly locked him into that corner.
If he tried to jump to dodge, he'd be exposed mid-air, giving Beichen Tianlang the perfect opening to land a lethal strike.
"Break!" Shi Feng bellowed.
Dragon Breath!
A dragon's roar thundered across the arena as a beam of white light pierced straight through the sea of fire, hurtling directly at Beichen Tianlang.
In terms of base stats, he was superior to Beichen Tianlang, and Dragon Breath was a subsidiary skill of the Heavenly Dragon's Sacred Breath — its power far exceeded that of an epic-grade weapon's skill. Breaking through the Scalding Wave was no problem at all.
The white beam of breath swallowed Beichen Tianlang whole.
"Is it over already?"
The spectators sat dumbfounded.
But on the arena, Shi Feng wasn't letting his guard down for a second. He activated Wind Walk and the Sword Master title, charging toward the spot where Beichen Tianlang had been standing.
Before he'd even covered half the distance, Beichen Tianlang burst out from within the white glow of the Dragon Breath, his entire body wreathed in a faint purple aura. The Dragon Breath's impact dissipated harmlessly upon touching the purple glow — Beichen Tianlang himself had taken absolutely no damage.
"So you noticed after all." Beichen Tianlang looked at the oncoming Shi Feng with mild surprise. He'd originally planned to take advantage of the opening to ambush Shi Feng, but that was no longer possible.
Shi Feng had no intention of giving Beichen Tianlang any time to react. He immediately unleashed Illusory Light Shadow.
Six streaks of azure light flickered into existence, closing the distance to Beichen Tianlang in the blink of an eye.
Shi Feng's movements flowed like water — no wasted motion, his attack speed boosted by 20% under the Sword Master title, so fast that no one could possibly react.
After the azure streaks swept past, Shi Feng's brow furrowed. A red beam suddenly slashed toward him from an impossible angle.
Shi Feng's hand gripping Abyssal whipped back in a parry!
Clang!
The two swords collided, sparks flying everywhere, as though the very air was trembling. Cracks splintered across the surrounding arena floor.
Abyssal had managed to intercept the red beam at the very last instant. But the moment one red beam passed, another descended from directly above.
"How is this possible?" Shi Feng was stunned. He had just parried one sword — how could another be falling from overhead, one he hadn't detected in the slightest?
Parry!
Shi Feng blocked the descending red beam with Slaying Thunder.
"What a heavy strike!" Shi Feng was forced back a step. The ground beneath his feet shattered, and his arm tingled with numbness. This was the first time a player's attack had numbed his arm. "Truly worthy of the famous sword Scorched Fire — the faster it swings, the heavier it hits."
After this initial exchange, Shi Feng now fully understood that Beichen Tianlang's base stats were far from ordinary. Though Beichen Tianlang was a Berserker with extremely high Strength growth, a single famous sword alone shouldn't give him such high Strength. Shi Feng was certain that Beichen Tianlang must possess more than one epic-grade item — otherwise, with Scorched Fire's passive skill alone, it would be impossible for him to slightly overpower Shi Feng in Strength.
But that wasn't the most troubling part. Shi Feng knew the surrounding environment like the back of his hand, yet he couldn't detect Beichen Tianlang's attacks at all — he couldn't even sense their trajectories.
And the earlier Illusory Light Shadow attack should have landed perfectly on Beichen Tianlang, yet Shi Feng hadn't felt any contact whatsoever...
...
In just a brief exchange on the arena, the spectators were left utterly stunned.
