Having eliminated everyone from the Martial Alliance, he had certainly made a powerful enemy, but Shi Feng didn't regret it.
Even if he had turned and left, the Martial Alliance wouldn't have let him go. Better to weaken their strength now and make future encounters easier.
Ignoring the shock and curiosity of the onlookers, Shi Feng walked over and collected the equipment dropped on the ground. These items could at least offset the loss of the "life payment."
"Hmm, isn't this a Knight's Longsword?" Shi Feng discovered two pieces of Bronze Equipment among the loot, one of which was actually Iron Sword Fierce Lion's Bronze weapon. He was probably furious enough to vomit blood by now.
The Knight's Longsword was indeed a decent weapon for a Level 4 Bronze item. In the Divine Realm, weapons and main tank equipment generally cost more than others of the same rank. This longsword was worth at least ten silver coins, plus another Level 3 Bronze cloth armor and several normal pieces.
Realizing he hadn't actually lost anything and had even made a profit of one or two silver coins, Shi Feng was about to leave when he noticed the players' gazes on the street had changed, their eyes filled with greed.
He had easily dispatched the expert Iron Sword Fierce Lion and one-shotted several Elite players. If anyone believed he didn't have top-tier equipment on him, they'd have to be ghosts. Especially since Shi Feng was now flagged for deep red hostility.
Players with a deep red flag suffered doubled death penalties. Given how many he had killed, if Shi Feng died, he would drop at least three or four items. Being locked up by guards for a while was nothing compared to losing top-tier gear.
A noob needed good equipment to grow into an expert. Taking down Shi Feng meant a chance at becoming one. Why not do it? Were they content to remain mediocre?
"What, you all want trouble with me too?" Shi Feng swept his gaze around, a cold smile on his face. It had been a long time since he felt this way—surrounded by a hostile crowd.
Frosted by his icy glare, everyone instinctively took a step back. No one had the courage to strike first; they waited for others to make a move so they could swoop in and reap the rewards.
"Make way! Ye Feng is a friend of the Assassin Alliance. Anyone who gives him trouble is crossing us!"
Ci Xin arrived with over a dozen subordinates, parting the crowd and walking towards Shi Feng.
The players who wanted to kill him were stunned by Ci Xin's announcement.
Just who was this Shi Feng? Not only was he powerful, but he also had the Assassin Alliance's open protection.
The Assassin Alliance was well-known in Red Leaf Town—the only second-rate guild there, with members spread across the entire Star Moon Kingdom, though their main force was in the White River City area. They were leagues above any other local guild.
Making an enemy of the Assassin Alliance meant you might as well delete your account and start over. They were infamous for their assassinations. The thought of being constantly watched by a bunch of assassins was chilling.
With the Assassin Alliance stepping in, the players naturally lost any appetite for targeting Shi Feng. Since there was nothing to gain, they dispersed.
"Thanks," Shi Feng said, looking at Ci Xin with gratitude.
"Don't mention it. With your skills, Brother Ye Feng, they wouldn't have stood a chance even if I hadn't come. I just helped nudge things along," Ci Xin said with a cupped-fist gesture of respect. "You truly opened my eyes today, Brother Ye Feng. Even I would have struggled to kill Iron Sword Fierce Lion, but you took him down in just a few moves."
