Shi Feng had already experienced the full might of the Nine-Headed Magic Serpent firsthand.
For any players in the present, it was simply an invincible existence — no amount of people would make a difference.
And in Shi Feng's mind, the thought of actually killing the Nine-Headed Magic Serpent had never even crossed his mind. He'd only been thinking about how to shake off the creature's relentless pursuit.
He never expected the Nine-Headed Magic Serpent to just drop dead like that.
For a moment, Shi Feng was too stunned to speak.
However, the notification chime ringing in his ears helped him understand what had happened.
System: The Blood Refinement Passage has been opened. Would you like to enter? (Time remaining: 1 hour 59 minutes) "So it turns out that if the stone gate passage is opened, the guardian beast dies along with it. No wonder the Nine-Headed Magic Serpent was so desperate." Shi Feng gazed at the serpent's remains — now nothing but a pile of rubble — and felt a wave of relief wash over him.
It was a shame he hadn't been the one to kill the Nine-Headed Magic Serpent. If he had, the experience points from such a creature might have pushed him up several levels in one go.
The massive stone gate had already opened, and there was still plenty of time before it closed.
Shi Feng wasn't in any rush to enter the Snow Lotus Passage. Instead, he strode quickly toward the Nine-Headed Magic Serpent's remains, wanting to take a closer look at what the creature had dropped.
Even though the Nine-Headed Magic Serpent hadn't been killed by him, it was still a monster — and monsters dropped loot upon death, just significantly less than when slain by players.
The Nine-Headed Magic Serpent was a Great Leader-tier fierce beast. Even the poorest drops it could yield would be incomparable to those of an ordinary Great Leader.
Among the three dropped items, one was a black cube covered in crimson magical runes. Its displayed name was Blood Refinement Stone, usable within the Blood Refinement World.
The other two were a silver-gray dagger shaped like a fang, and a blueprint.
"Fierce beasts really do drop incredible loot. An epic-tier dagger in one go." Shi Feng's jaw practically hit the floor — he couldn't believe the drops were this generous.

"Huowu's going to be thrilled. She just needs to reach level 40 to equip it, though the Strength requirement is a bit steep. I'll need to find a way to raise that." Shi Feng happily stowed away the Petrification Fang.
The True Flame Cutting Edge currently in Huowu's hands was a top-quality Dark Gold weapon, but compared to the Petrification Fang, they weren't even in the same league.
No matter how powerful a Dark Gold weapon was, it was still ultimately a mortal's weapon.
