Just as Zero Wing Guild's members were challenging the Trial Tower, both Laughing Pride and Burial simultaneously sent a large number of people to challenge the Trial Tower as well.
The originally quiet God and Devil Arena suddenly became lively due to the competition among the three major guilds. Many players who had returned to the city to rest now rushed over, wanting to witness the final results with their own eyes, and along the way catch many exciting battle scenes.
These battle scenes were different from player-versus-player fights and held far greater reference value, especially the combat footage from the fourth floor and beyond.
Because the system would specifically display each class's combat methods, offering more instructional significance. Normally, battle videos of this caliber were never leaked by the major guilds—they kept them in-house for their own members to watch.
Some top players would even monetize their battle videos, requiring payment before viewing. Many players looking to improve further would choose to pay and watch, while those unwilling to pay could only come to the God and Devil Arena to watch for free. But the free content was ultimately limited—the truly core material was completely inaccessible, which would gradually widen the gap.
Now that the three major guilds were competing, although the released videos were only fourth-floor battle footage, it still made everyone quite happy.
"I wonder which side will claim first place in this three-way contest."
"I think it should be Burial. I saw several well-known experts from other virtual games had joined Burial Guild to challenge the Trial Tower."
"Burial Guild is really impressive, managing to recruit so many experts into the guild. Before long, they'll probably be able to challenge White River City's ruling guild."
"Exactly. With Gui Yingzi's studio joining Burial Guild, their strength has increased several times over. Even now, the Trial Tower's highest cleared floor is still held by Gui Yingzi."
"Gui Yingzi truly deserves his reputation as a top-tier expert in the virtual gaming world. So far, no one else has cleared the seventh floor. But Gui Yingzi managed to do it, and he's even reached the middle of the seventh floor. I heard that even the highest level cleared at the Star Moon Capital is only the latter part of the sixth floor—still a significant gap from reaching the seventh."
"This is just unfair. I'm already an elite member of the Assassin Alliance, and I've only reached the third floor so far. The fourth floor feels like it's an eternity away. I really don't know how they managed it."
"But isn't the number one expert in the Star Moon Kingdom Black Flame? Didn't Black Flame reach the seventh floor?"
"I don't know about that, but Black Flame's name doesn't appear on White River City's Trial Rankings. He probably hasn't attempted it."
"He probably hasn't tried because he's afraid of embarrassment. If he can't beat Gui Yingzi, then the title of the Star Moon Kingdom's number one expert would change hands."
The numerous players gazed at the Trial Tower's ranking board, filled with excitement.
Normally, these top-tier experts were extremely rare to see—they were from an entirely different world from ordinary players. Now they could witness them in person, and these famous experts were going up against White River City's top guild Zero Wing's core members. Who was stronger and who was weaker—who wouldn't be excited?
Just as everyone was discussing which guild was stronger and which experts were formidable, the Trial Rankings began to change.
"Look! Someone new has cleared the fourth floor and entered the fifth!" Sharp-eyed players quickly noticed the shift on the board.
The God and Devil Arena featured two ranking boards—one was the Arena Rankings, specifically for player-versus-player combat, and the other was the Trial Rankings. The Trial Rankings recorded the names and guilds of players who had cleared each floor, though only three hundred names were displayed per floor. Among those who cleared the same floor, ranking was based on completion time, though this held little significance since everyone only cared about the highest floor—who would bother with who cleared the first or third floor the fastest?
And currently, in all of White River City, fewer than three hundred players had cleared the fourth floor to enter the fifth. So it was immediately obvious when the number of fifth-floor entrants increased and who had made it in.
"Canglang Zhantian—I've never heard of this person, but his completion time is remarkably short. His fourth-floor clear time is second only to Gui Yingzi's, placing him second on the rankings."
"I didn't expect Laughing Pride to have such a powerful expert. At this speed, he might even push through to the sixth floor."
Everyone immediately began discussing this.
In all of White River City, players who could reach the sixth floor were incredibly rare—the total count was fewer than twenty, and all of them belonged to the three major guilds. As for the seventh floor, only one person had cleared it, and that was the renowned Gui Yingzi.
"The sixth floor?" Feng Xuanyang heard the players downstairs and said with undisguised contempt, "What's so special about the sixth floor? The number one on the Trial Rankings just happens to be from our Laughing Pride."
