Feng Qianyu didn't seem in any hurry. She sipped her black tea and quietly waited for his reply, as though she wasn't the least bit worried he might refuse.
An Epic-grade treasure chest was extraordinarily rare — even more so than Epic-grade items themselves. The Dragon and Phoenix Pavilion had simply gotten lucky, stumbling upon one by chance, and had paid an enormous price to obtain it.

If something even better than a typical Epic-grade item came out of it, the benefit to a guild would go without saying. The mere spectacle of it would boost a guild's reputation by leaps and bounds, to say nothing of equipping a top player and having them run dungeons.
Dungeons had strict party size limits, so the quality of each player made a massive difference to how smoothly a run went. Putting a single Epic-grade item on a top-tier player would instantly elevate the entire team's damage output to a whole new level.
Naturally, they'd clear dungeons faster than rival guilds, have an easier time claiming First Clears, and be better positioned to tackle dungeons no other guild could handle. The savings alone from reduced dungeon casualties would be substantial.
Any guild with ambition would jump at a chance like this — let alone Zero Wing, a guild brimming with ambition.
"I wonder if Pavilion Master Feng has any way to open this Epic-grade treasure chest?" After thinking it over for a good while, Shi Feng finally spoke up.
This was the first time he'd laid eyes on an Epic-grade chest, but he hadn't let excitement cloud his judgment when it came to how these things worked.
In the Divine Realm, the higher the grade of a chest, the harder it was to open.
He had no idea how an Epic-grade chest worked, but he did know that Dark Gold chests required a key. Surely an Epic-grade chest couldn't just be opened by hand?
When Shi Feng asked this, Feng Qianyu studied him more carefully.
"I have to say, I'm impressed that Guild Leader Hei Yan can remain so calm in front of an Epic-grade chest. King Jiu Long didn't lose without reason," Feng Qianyu praised.
Most people, upon seeing a treasure vault, would immediately want to claim everything for themselves. Even the leader of a first-rate guild — someone who'd weathered countless storms — would find it impossible to keep their composure when faced with an Epic-grade chest. The potential gains were simply too enormous; this kind of thing could be a turning point for an entire guild. How could anyone stay calm?
Yet Shi Feng hadn't forgotten that nothing in this world came free.
"Exactly as Guild Leader Hei Yan suspects, opening an Epic-grade chest does require certain conditions. However, I imagine those conditions shouldn't be too difficult for the Zero Wing Guild to meet. If not now, then certainly in the future — it's only a matter of time." Feng Qianyu made no effort to hide anything and said so directly.
"Could Pavilion Master Feng tell me what the conditions are?" Shi Feng asked with a smile.
How could he not see that she was holding something back?

Dark Gold chests alone required Dark Gold keys to open, and Dark Gold keys were even rarer than Dark Gold chests. If an Epic-grade chest needed an Epic-grade key to open, then this chest was practically worthless to him.
