He had been eyeing Beast King Teresik just moments ago, scheming to snatch that treasure for himself.
Thankfully he had abandoned that idea, or else the Sky Knight who had just been obliterated would have been a preview of his own fate.
Whatever could kill a fourth-tier Sky Knight in a single blow and leave behind not even a corpse or equipment—the damage it dealt clearly wasn't ordinary.
Players didn't fear death, true enough, but being taken out by an attack like that probably wouldn't just mean losing some experience points and gear. It could very well affect the player themselves.
The simplest consequence would be damage to the player's Immortal Soul, which would prevent them from logging into Divine Realm for a short period.
But that wasn't even the worst of it. In some adventures, if a player died, they might come back to life so devastated that they'd want to delete their character outright.
The Sky Knight's death here almost certainly fell into that category.
After the Sky Knight perished, Beast King Teresik sheathed his crimson greatsword and slowly walked toward the treasure radiating a golden divine glow, a gloating smirk twisting his savage face.
He began chanting a spell, and immediately, rows of golden divine runes materialized around the treasure, enveloping it completely—as though sealing it away.
"It wasn't a trap?"
Watching Beast King Teresik's actions, Shi Feng realized this clearly wasn't a trap meant to deal with Teresik. The treasure itself must be something you simply couldn't touch. Teresik knew this while the Sky Knight did not, which was why the latter had been reduced to nothing.
Since Teresik knew it couldn't be touched, he naturally knew what the treasure was, and that was why he was sealing it.
"Should I risk it?" Shi Feng hesitated.
Earlier, the treasure had been too close to Teresik. By the time he dashed over, he'd never make it—he'd be cut down before he even reached it. But now that Teresik was occupied with the sealing ritual, a window of opportunity had opened.
He could use this time to sneak closer and snatch the treasure the instant the seal was about to be completed.
However, just how powerful a Legendary Beast King Teresik was, Shi Feng had witnessed firsthand.
