Chapter 482: The Power of One

April 26, 2017 · 4 min read · 875 words

"This Evil Ghost Affliction really is terrifying. Killing red-name players actually strips them of everything they have on them. The Netherworld behind One Smile City is probably crying their eyes out right now." Shi Feng looked at the pile of dropped items on the ground, feeling an indescribable sense of satisfaction.

Taking out a guild's elite members wasn't much of a loss for that guild, since those elites only wore high-grade equipment that could easily be replaced. But expert members were different.

Every expert was a walking collection of a guild's finest gear.

Behind every piece of top-tier equipment lay the sacrifices of countless players. Snatching a single piece of top-tier equipment from an enemy guild was like slicing a chunk of flesh right off their body.

The Netherworld Guard squad had a total of twelve members. Ten of them wore mostly Level 25 Mythril equipment with a smattering of Level 20 Gold-grade and even Dark Gold pieces. As for Five Ghost and Six Ghost, their gear wasn't much worse than Zero Wing's core members—their equipment was mostly Level 25 Gold-grade, and even the weakest pieces were Level 20 Dark Gold. Now all twelve had been completely stripped bare by Shi Feng...

On top of that, quite a few inventory items had dropped, including a number of Evil Ghost Affliction potions and good equipment they'd looted from other players, such as Level 20 Mythril and Gold-grade gear.

With a rough calculation, Shi Feng realized he'd raked in nearly a hundred gold from taking these people out.

"You guys can divide the high-grade equipment among yourselves. Just remember to set aside some for our fallen comrades." Shi Feng pocketed only the top-tier equipment and Evil Ghost Affliction potions, leaving the rest for the team. Then he darted into the jungle and vanished, off to hunt down other Netherworld Guard squads.

"So cool! Is that really our Guild Master?" A beautiful female Summoner watched Shi Feng's retreating figure, her gaze filled with an alluring charm.

"It should be. Earlier, that person called him Black Flame, and he didn't deny it. Plus, he was willing to leave all this good equipment with us—besides the Guild Master, I doubt anyone else would do that." The party leader, a Ranger, nodded, his heart swelling with excitement.

"It's really great being a member of Zero Wing." The others couldn't help but voice their sentiment.

The two guilds were in an all-out war, and their Guild Master had personally charged in, leading from the front into this dangerous place. He'd even come rushing to their rescue first thing. With a Guild Master like this, they'd be willing to fight One Smile City even if it meant dropping all the way back to Level 0.

"The Guild Master left us these great items, but I suggest we keep a few for the ones who died and return the rest to the guild warehouse. We're in a massive war with One Smile City right now, and the guild is burning through resources. We can't keep taking from the warehouse." The party leader spoke up.

The others all nodded in agreement.

Meanwhile, Shi Feng was simultaneously searching for chests in the Watchman's Graveyard while waiting for the guild channel to relay information and for his Spatial Teleport cooldown to reset. Spatial Teleport required a five-minute cooldown, and he didn't want to waste that time, so he started treasure hunting.

The Watchman's Graveyard was as familiar as could be to Shi Feng. In his previous life, he'd come here countless times to explore and hunt for treasure. The locations of many chests had been posted online, but since those chests had already been found by players, they wouldn't respawn next time around. So nobody cared anymore and would just show off their finds. This gave Shi Feng the perfect opportunity to search undisturbed.

The Divine Realm held countless secrets. Back then, Shi Feng had only skimmed through them without paying close attention. Even with his excellent memory, he couldn't recall everything now—who could have predicted they'd be reborn?

However, thanks to his heightened brain activity, even his memory had improved dramatically. Things he previously couldn't remember now felt as vivid as if he'd seen them just yesterday. So finding chests was as easy as following a treasure map.

In no time at all, Shi Feng found a Bronze chest and popped it open to reveal over three silvers and a Level 25 Iron Rank weapon.

"There are too few chests here and far too many players. Most of them have probably been found already. I'll have to try somewhere else." Shi Feng collected the items from the Bronze chest. A Level 25 Iron Rank weapon was still highly sought after at this stage. He then glanced at the system map. "I recall there are several hidden spots inside the Watchman's Graveyard with higher-level chests."

With that, Shi Feng headed straight for the inner area of the Watchman's Graveyard.

For the next several hours, Shi Feng continued hunting treasure while picking off Netherworld Guard squads that showed themselves.

In that span of time, he opened over thirty chests—fourteen Bronze, sixteen Iron Rank, and six Mythril—while eliminating eleven Netherworld Guard squads. His haul was nothing short of staggering.
