The six figures tumbling out of midair caught both Lan Shuyun and Cang Yixiao's groups off guard.
Neither side could figure out how these people had appeared so suddenly.
"Boss Cang, a whole squad just dropped in, and their levels are insane — the lowest is Level 25. These aren't the kind of people you want to mess with," a Level 23 Ranger clicked his tongue.
Currently, elite players were only around Level 22, with the stronger ones at 23 and top-tier experts sitting at roughly 24.
Lan Shuyun's squad was typical — only she had reached Level 23, while the rest were all Level 22.
The highest level in their own group was Cang Yixiao himself at Level 24, with the others ranging from 21 to 23.
But even a powerhouse like Cang Yixiao was only Level 24. Meanwhile, the six who had fallen from the sky had a minimum level of 25, and the highest among them was a staggering 27…
Everyone knew that the higher the level, the larger the experience gap between each level. Setting equipment aside, a single Level 27 player was terrifying enough on its own.
"Why do I feel like I recognize some of these people?" Cang Yixiao wasn't stupid. He scanned the group that had fallen from midair, then activated his Observation skill. A smirk crept onto his lips. "It really is him!"
"Boss Cang, who are you talking about?" the Ranger beside him asked, confused.
"Have you forgotten about the bounty Yi Xiao Qing Cheng posted?" Cang Yixiao looked excitedly at one figure in particular — a Level 25 Swordsman wrapped in black robes.
The Ranger followed Cang Yixiao's gaze and used his own Observation skill on the swordsman.
The swordsman's name was Hei Yan.
"Hei Yan?"
"That's right, Hei Yan — the number one expert in the Star Moon Kingdom. Yi Xiao Qing Cheng put up a bounty on him just two days ago. Report his exact location and you get ten thousand Credit Points. If you manage to get close enough for their people to confirm he's there, that's three hundred thousand. And if you actually kill him, Yi Xiao Qing Cheng will pay two million Credit Points. A lot of top players have been itching for a shot at that, hunting for his whereabouts nonstop. And here he falls right into my lap."
"But Boss Cang — I've heard this Hei Yan is incredibly strong. Countless people haven't been able to touch him. With just our group, I'm afraid…"
"Afraid of what? With the Divine Realm system upgrade, every player's strength — average or expert — has taken a massive hit. Even if he was the number one in the Star Moon Kingdom, he's a tiger without claws and teeth now. On my turf, does he really think he can flip the sky?"
"Contact Yi Xiao Qing Cheng right now. Tell them we've found Hei Yan. Have the money ready to pay for his corpse."
With a wave of his hand, Cang Yixiao signaled forward, and over fifty red-named players immediately surrounded Lan Shuyun's squad and Hei Yan's group, leaving no escape route for either.
"Why are you here?" Lan Shuyun looked at Shi Feng in surprise.
Shi Feng was a whale — she had been planning to sell two pieces of the Warflame set to him after returning to town. She never expected to run into him here, and under these circumstances no less.
"You are?" Shi Feng studied Lan Shuyun for a moment, and the image of this red-haired beauty clicked into place. He smiled. "How have your runs been these past few days?"
"Pretty decent, actually. I was going to find you when we got back," Lan Shuyun said with a bitter laugh. "But now we've run into them instead. I have no idea whether this trip to White Mist Canyon turned out to be a profit or a loss."
"An enemy of yours?" Shi Feng swept his gaze around. These red-named players had solid levels and decent gear. The Level 24 Berserker leading them stood out in particular. They were all free players — reaching Level 24 made them legitimate experts.
