"What's wrong with Lingshe?" Cao Chenghua kept glancing at the system time. "Isn't he two levels higher than that female Priest?"
The time during which Lingshe was restricted was clearly over, yet he was still under control, while Ziyan Liuyun had already broken free.
This series of events completely shattered Cao Chenghua's understanding of the Divine Realm.
It wasn't just Cao Chenghua; even Zhao Yueru, who thought she had lost, stared wide-eyed, unable to recover for a long time.
Watching the battle within the arena, Bai Qingxue's eyes held a hint of confusion.
It was far too illogical.
Only Shi Feng knew that Lingshe had fallen into a trap.
Compared to level suppression, tier suppression was far more potent. It was like the same punch thrown by an infant versus an adult—their strength was worlds apart.
Because Ziyan Liuyun was a Tier 1 class, even if the level gap was ten tiers, the effect of crowd-control skills used against a Tier 0 class could exceed 100%. Conversely, even if a Tier 0 class had ten more levels, the effect of crowd-control skills used against a Tier 1 class would be reduced by over 30%.
The gap between tiers was that cruel.
This was what made high-tier players so valuable and their power so overwhelming.
Before the spectators could carefully analyze what was happening, Lingshe on the arena was sealed within a barrier of silent, pitch-black death, as if locked inside a giant coffin.
This technique left everyone in the arena, except Shi Feng, in awe.
They didn't know the true power of this black coffin or its special properties, but everyone present was an expert. From the pitch-black barrier, they could feel a soul-deep trembling, as if the coffin was a beast that devoured everything. Being locked inside meant being swallowed by the beast—a guaranteed death.
Once Lingshe was sealed inside, Ziyan Liuyun pulled back the distance.
Three seconds later, as the black coffin gradually dissipated, Ziyan Liuyun had already created nearly twenty yards of separation. Even if Lingshe wanted to counterattack, this distance was extremely difficult to bridge.
"Huh? What's going on? I didn't take any damage?" Lingshe emerged from the black coffin, having expected certain death. After all, a high-tier magic that took a full second to cast must be devastating, but he hadn't suffered any harm at all. It was much ado about nothing. "Did my higher level trigger a minuscule chance of magic immunity? Or was this just a crowd-control spell after all?"
Lingshe relaxed, fixing his gaze on Ziyan Liuyun in the distance.
Although Ziyan Liuyun had created a twenty-yard gap, which was disadvantageous for him, he had several ways to solve this minor problem.
With a wave of his staff, Ziyan Liuyun unleashed bolts of Holy Judgment from the sky, raining down on Lingshe's position.
A contemptuous sneer touched Lingshe's lips. With a swift movement of his feet, he easily dodged the incoming Holy Judgment. He then charged straight toward Ziyan Liuyun.
But suddenly, Lingshe noticed something wrong—he was losing health. He lost 500 HP in an instant, then another 500. Lingshe's total HP was only a little over 3,100, so he'd just lost 1,000, leaving him with just over 2,100.
"I didn't get hit." Lingshe was 100% certain he had dodged those bolts of Holy Judgment.
Before he could figure it out, Ziyan Liuyun attacked again—more Holy Judgment.
Lingshe moved to dodge once more, but this time he only lost 500 HP.
Ziyan Liuyun attacked yet again. Knowing he couldn't afford to keep losing health, Lingshe used his dagger to block the Holy Judgment. This time, he didn't take any damage.
"Figured it out?" Ziyan Liuyun said with a smile.
The Star Astrologer class had very few, if any, earth-shattering magic skills. Most of its attack methods were unpredictable and varied. This was something Ziyan Liuyun had discovered through research over time, and even now, he hadn't fully mastered the Star Astrologer's combat essence.
