Seeing the gleaming golden Book of Inheritance, Shi Feng finally let out a sigh of relief.
"So this counts as completing the trial." Shi Feng collected the loot scattered on the ground and walked over to the Book of Inheritance hovering in midair.
He then clicked to display the Book of Inheritance's information.
System: Completion rate 70%. Would you like to open the Book of Inheritance and accept the inheritance?
"Only 70%?" Shi Feng was slightly taken aback. He looked again and again before finally confirming he hadn't misread it.
He had gone through the trouble of defeating Dorren Pallei—a peak first-order Magic Knight—only to achieve a 70% completion rate…
In the Divine Realm, inheritances were ranked by grade, and each grade had its own tier. The determining factor was the completion rate during the inheritance trial.
A 51%–60% completion rate earned a C-rank rating, granting the basic skills of the inheritance.
A 61%–70% completion rate earned a B-rank rating, which included the basic skills plus 1–3 Inheritance Skill Points.
A 71%–80% completion rate earned an A-rank rating, which included the basic skills plus 5–9 Inheritance Skill Points.
An 81%–90% completion rate earned an S-rank rating, which included the basic skills plus 10–18 Inheritance Skill Points.
A 91%–100% completion rate earned an SS-rank rating, which included the basic skills plus 20–36 Inheritance Skill Points.
Inheritance Skill Points were used to unlock class skills sealed within the Book of Inheritance. The more powerful the class skill, the more Inheritance Skill Points it required to unlock.
A player's collection of powerful skills was one of the most important factors in determining combat strength—especially powerful class skills.
So Inheritance Skill Points were extremely valuable.
However, they weren't easy to obtain. Besides earning 1 Inheritance Skill Point every 3 levels after acquiring the Book of Inheritance, the only other way was to complete certain special tasks and challenges. They were exceedingly rare.
A B-rank rating yielded at most 3 Inheritance Skill Points. Shi Feng wasn't satisfied with that at all.
Having apparently obtained one of the Ten Great Sacred Legacies so easily, how could a mere 3 Inheritance Skill Points satisfy him? Moreover, raising his completion rate by just 1% would elevate it to an A-rank rating, netting him at least 5 Inheritance Skill Points. That difference of 2 points would otherwise take 6 levels to make up.
"70% completion… Could it be because I found a shortcut to kill Dorren Pallei, which is why the rate is so low?" Shi Feng rejected the option to open the Book of Inheritance and pondered silently.
In his memories from his previous life, inheritance trials required completing certain specific tasks to increase the completion rate. Shi Feng had been in the Origin Sword Domain for four days now, and ever since arriving, he had been constantly observing and watching for anything unusual—specifically to prevent himself from missing something that would result in a low completion rate.
Yet after days of careful observation, he had even thoroughly examined Sword Peak Mountain itself, all the way to the summit, and had found nothing special.
"What exactly did I miss?"
Shi Feng believed he had done everything perfectly, missing nothing suspicious. He had even collected all the blueprint pieces for the Steel-Breaking Set. As for the Bone Generals, Bone Giants, and Blade Demons at the base of the mountain, they were infinitely respawning monsters—there was no way to clear them all.
"Could it be these things?"
Shi Feng put away the Book of Inheritance and pulled a pitch-black sword-shaped key and a silver stone tablet from his inventory.
