The ten healers in Dark Star's ranks had no idea what was coming. Six stealthed figures closed in rapidly.
Fire Dance was blindingly fast. A gap of seven or eight yards vanished in an instant.
A nineteen-level Priest hadn't even registered a hint of danger before a snow-white dagger wreathed in freezing cold plunged into the back of his skull, and a second dagger radiating searing heat appeared at his throat.
Ambush dazed the Priest, and the follow-up came in a ruthless chain.
Backstab!
Shadow Strike!
Fourfold Shadow Kill!
Armed with Gold-grade weapons and outfitted in Gold-grade and even Dark-Gold equipment, Fire Dance tore through a cloth-armor Priest in the blink of an eye, unleashing a devastating sequence of damage—774, 581, 416, 421, 419, 417.
With less than 1,800 HP, the Priest was deleted outright.
The other five Assassins finished their own healer targets at roughly the same moment.
"They actually dare ambush us? They're asking to die!" Nan Lang barked through the guild channel, spotting Fire Dance the instant the six healers fell. A cold sneer crossed his face as he issued orders. "Everyone stay calm! Guardian Knights, cast Protection Blessing on the remaining healers. Rangers, mark them now—we can't let them vanish again. Elementalists, pin them down with ice magic. Everyone else, push!"
The nearest Shield Warriors and Berserkers reacted fast, charging in to protect the surviving healers. Guardian Knights layered Protection Blessing onto four healers simultaneously, cutting all physical damage taken by fifty percent.
These were Elite players with genuinely solid technique. Taking out the remaining four healers was nearly impossible now.
Facing the warriors' charges and a volley of Frost Bolts from the casters, Fire Dance and her team popped Gust Step—utilizing its brief one-second window of invincibility—and disengaged. They melted into the treeline, leaving behind only six healer corpses.
"Dammit!" Nan Lang snarled, livid. "All Assassins, use Tracking! Do not let them escape!"
A hundred-strong Elite squad ambushed by six Assassins who wiped out six healers and got clean away—if word ever got out, it would be a joke.
Dark Star's players had barely given chase when the Summoner You Lan suddenly shouted, "Stop chasing! Everyone, scatter—now!"
With that, she calmly walked away from the treeline.
Nan Lang was taken aback. He had no idea what You Lan was playing at, but he gave the order to comply.
Far away, Hei Zi completed his casting and finished the last syllable of the incantation.
A golden magical circle materialized in the sky. A dazzling Star of Light came crashing down.
The quickest Elementalists blinked away instantly. The rest scrambled to trigger defensive skills and dodge for all they were worth, but the Star of Light covered a massive area. Dark Star's players were caught completely off guard. More than ten failed to escape in time and were hammered by the impact. Even a Shield Warrior with three thousand HP and Shield Wall active was obliterated by the successive barrages of falling stars.
No one inside the Star of Light's radius survived.
"What an incredible skill," You Lan murmured, though she had dodged the blast. Watching its terrifying destructive power firsthand, she couldn't help but click her tongue in awe. "Besides Black Flame and Night Edge, the number-one player on Zero Wing's Honor Ranking is no joke either."
