Upper District of Yuan Tian City, residential community.
As Shi Feng walked out of the residential community, he glanced around at the streets and the towering buildings nearby, a faint smile tugging at the corner of his lips.
"Quite the show of force. More than a dozen experts at the half-step Grandmaster level or above, all keeping tabs on my movements."
Having lived in the Upper District for some time now, and with the information Mu Xin had sent over about the area, he had at least a general understanding of how the Upper District operated.
Mastery-level combat experts were common enough in the Upper District, but half-step Grandmaster experts or above were rare even here. Among the major powers of the Upper District, such individuals were pillars—typically only the first heirs of major conglomerates would have half-step Grandmaster experts or above assigned to their side.
And having more than a dozen of them? Even if all the top conglomerates in the Upper District mobilized their entire roster of experts, it would amount to roughly the same.
Shi Feng didn't pay them much mind, though. He strolled toward the villa community at a leisurely pace as if he hadn't noticed a thing.
"Steward Yi, the kid clearly spotted us, so why does it feel like he doesn't care at all?" A middle-aged man in black on a rooftop terrace watched Shi Feng leave and couldn't help but turn to the steward beside him, Yi Kui. "Could it be that he has some backer we don't know about?"
Ever since Wang Xuanming had been thoroughly expelled from the Upper District and Grandmaster Wu Ming had flown into a rage, the elders of the various families who had been operating in the shadows had been ordered to keep a close watch on Shi Feng.
If possible, eliminate him.
These family elders were more than happy to do Grandmaster Wu Ming that favor. After all, according to their intelligence, Shi Feng was nothing more than someone who had barely managed to enter the Upper District through Hong Xin Yuan's connections. He had no faction backing him—his only accomplishments were within the Divine Realm.
To the middle-aged man's question, Yi Kui shook his head. "As far as I know, he has no one backing him. The closest thing would be his somewhat closer relationship with the Giant Stone Conglomerate, and Manager Xia has shown a bit of interest in him—but that's all it is. She certainly wouldn't go so far as to oppose us on his account. His complete nonchalance right now is most likely because he's relying on the tightened security enforcement in the Upper District lately and figures he has nothing to worry about."
"If that's the case, then this kid's good days are numbered!" The middle-aged man in black watched Shi Feng recede into the distance, his gaze turning cold.
In a one-on-one fight between equal Grandmaster-level fighters, it would be extremely difficult to determine a winner in a short time.
But they had assembled a total of eight Grandmaster-level experts, plus six half-step Body Refinement Grandmasters. Among those eight Grandmaster-level fighters, three were the real deal—genuine Body Refinement Grandmasters.
If they all attacked together, even a powerhouse like Wang Xuanming would be killed in short order, with no chance of escape whatsoever.
"Then I'll leave the rest to Elder Qi and the others. I'll be right here waiting for the good news." Yi Kui addressed the man in black before him with visible deference.
Elder Qi of the Star Navigator Conglomerate—though advanced in age and with virtually no hope of making further progress in his mental cultivation—was a Body Refinement Grandmaster whose strength surpassed even Wang Xuanming's by a fair margin.
If not for Grandmaster Wu Ming's involvement, Elder Qi wouldn't have given the Star Navigator Conglomerate the time of day.
"No problem. Leave it to us. The moment we get the chance, we'll cripple him first!" Elder Qi stroked his beard, completely at ease. "Let this kid know that in the Upper District, there are people he can't afford to cross!"
Safety was indeed guaranteed in the Upper District—even mental grandmasters wouldn't dare cause a death, or the Green God Group would investigate to the very end. No one, not even a mental grandmaster, could continue living in the Upper District after that, because this was the Green God Group's bottom line.
But beating someone up, or even crippling them, as long as the Green God Group didn't see it happen, they would turn a blind eye. After all, as long as the person was still alive, the Green God Group's technology could heal them—it was just a matter of time.
With that, Elder Qi led his group and followed after Shi Feng.
Upper District villa community.
After wandering through the villa community for over half an hour, Shi Feng arrived before a luxurious three-story villa that spanned the area of four basketball courts.
"Truly worthy of the Wuzhou Conglomerate. In the entire villa community, there are only ten villas of this size—even the Giant Stone Conglomerate couldn't buy one. No wonder Han Yifeng dares to go after the qualification to enter the Middle District." Shi Feng studied the opulent villa before him and couldn't help but marvel inwardly.
