"Dead?"
"A Level 160 Tier 4 NPC just... died?"
One by one, the players stared at the black-robed knight, Sablaid, lying crumpled on the ground. None of them could believe what they were seeing. Some were half-convinced that Sablaid was only playing dead—that he hadn't truly been killed.
Even Oath Blood Soul atop the city walls felt as though everything before him was some kind of illusion.
How could the deputy commander of Dragon Heart City—a figure widely regarded as one of the absolute top experts among Tier 4 Classes—possibly be killed by a player?
Only Jing Wuming, Gu Jiuji, and Yu Luo had remained relatively calm. None of them were particularly surprised that Shi Feng had slain the black-robed knight Sablaid. After all, Shi Feng had already reached Level 140—the gap was a mere twenty levels, which at the Tier 4 tier didn't amount to much of an advantage.
What they hadn't expected was how cleanly Shi Feng had dispatched Sablaid. That single strike had grievously wounded the black-robed knight. Without it, the fight could have dragged on for ages and certainly wouldn't have ended so simply.
But to the side, Shen Ying and Fan Mu Ran stood slack-jawed, expressions blank, clearly still struggling to process what had just happened.
And while the crowd reeled from this impossibility, reality delivered yet another jolt.
The slain Sablaid had dropped several items. Among them was the very war saber the black-robed knight had wielded throughout the battle.
The saber merely hovered in midair, yet it radiated a pressure so overwhelming that numerous Tier 2 players in the vicinity felt a chill of dread. Only Tier 3 experts could bear it with any degree of comfort.
"A Legendary fragment!"
Someone cried out the words, and the entire crowd finally snapped back to awareness. Hundreds of pairs of eyes locked onto the gleaming saber, blazing with greed. Some players could barely restrain themselves from rushing forward to snatch it.
But before a single one of them could take a step, Shi Feng had already materialized before Sablaid's corpse. The sheer, terrifying pressure he radiated froze every person on the spot.
The oppressive force Shi Feng emanated at that moment was simply too immense. Even though he had long since withdrawn his magic domain, the onlookers still found it hard to breathe, unable to meet his gaze directly.
As for the Legendary fragment lying there—not a single player dared entertain so much as a passing thought of claiming it.
A man who could kill a Level 160 Tier 4 NPC would need nothing more than a passing whim to wipe them all out. Unless someone had a death wish and wanted to experience annihilation firsthand, there was nothing more to discuss.
In an instant, tens of thousands of players and even more NPCs—along with the city guard soldiers who had been poised to intervene—all stood in absolute silence, watching Shi Feng. They watched as he calmly picked up each item Sablaid had dropped and stowed them into his inventory, one by one...
"If I could be even half as strong as him someday, I'd consider my life well lived."
"Forget being like him—if I had even half his power, I could probably roam all of Dragon Heart Island unopposed!"
From the port in the distance, members of various adventuring teams watched Shi Feng quietly gathering his spoils, and every last one of them felt a surge of longing and reverence that no words could adequately express.
To slay a Tier 4 NPC right at the gates of Dragon Heart City—a neutral mega-city—such a feat would make him the absolute number one in the entire Divine Realm. If word got out, half the people who heard it wouldn't even believe it.
Yet this storybook miracle had happened right before their eyes, and they had witnessed it firsthand. How could their blood not boil?
But before anyone could even begin to recover from the spectacle of Shi Feng killing Sablaid, he took another step forward.
Before Oath Blood Soul atop the city walls could even react, Shi Feng was already standing before him. The three top-tier experts guarding Oath Blood Soul's side hadn't had time to process what was happening either.
"Commander Oath Blood Soul. We meet again." Shi Feng regarded the guild leader with a faint smile, his tone casual. "My appearing here like this—you should understand what I've come for, I trust."
Shi Feng's words were light and easy, a smile still lingering on his face. But Oath Blood Soul and his companions had gone deathly pale, as though they were looking upon a ghost.
