The East Continent of the Divine Realm.
In the midst of a vast, boundless desert, a massive black hole suddenly materialized—its diameter easily five or six meters. In an instant, the surrounding hundred yards of magic power fluctuated wildly, every trace of mana surging toward it as though answering some primal call.
Within mere moments, a forty-to-fifty-yard radius had become a magicless zone where no player could survive.
And just as the magicless zone formed, a silhouette emerged from the black hole, landing quietly atop a sand dune. Though the surrounding area was completely drained of mana, this figure was enveloped in a dense layer of magic, utterly unaffected by the dead zone.
"Finally made it out." Shi Feng glanced at the black hole as it gradually dissipated overhead, inwardly exasperated. "That ruin's random teleportation circle is a real scam. Other random teleportation circles send you straight to your destination, but this one dumped me into a spatial maze and made me find my own way out. If I hadn't had a flight skill, I'd probably still be stuck in there for another five or six hours."
He had experienced random teleportation circles in the Divine Realm before, but this kind was definitely a first for him.
The moment he entered the black hole, he had been deposited inside an enormous spatial maze with no choice but to locate the exit himself. And that wasn't even the worst of it—inside the maze, he had also encountered a great number of Void monsters. Fortunately, those creatures were only around Level 120, most of them at the Great Lord level of strength. Between his flight skill, he could fight and search for the exit simultaneously, or else he couldn't imagine how much longer he would have been trapped.
After a brief complaint, Shi Feng retrieved a White River City Return Scroll from his inventory, intending to head back to the city right away to get his bearings.
But the moment he unrolled the scroll and began channeling it, a system notification chimed in his ear.
[System: This area is sealed by an unknown energy. All teleportation magic and items cannot be used.]
"Can't use teleportation magic?" Shi Feng frowned slightly. "Could my luck really be this terrible—being dropped straight into a Forbidden Life Zone?"
In the Divine Realm, places where Return Scrolls were unusable were generally limited to special locations or Forbidden Life Zones. The odds of a random teleportation circle sending him to a special location were essentially zero—those required specific methods to enter, not something a random teleportation circle could reach. That left only the Forbidden Life Zones.
These zones permitted entry via teleportation but not exit. The only way out was to leave under your own power…
"Guess I'll have to fly out of here first." Shi Feng put away the Return Scroll and reluctantly pulled out the Thunder Eagle's Beast Taming Flute.
But the very next second after he summoned the Thunder Eagle, he was struck dumb once more.
[System: This area is sealed by an unknown energy. Flying mounts cannot be summoned.]
"What kind of place is this? They won't even let me summon a flying mount!" Shi Feng stared at the system notification, momentarily stunned.
In his memory, aside from certain special locations, Forbidden Life Zones generally did not prohibit flying mounts. Places that banned flying mounts were typically Forbidden Life Zones of Level 150 or above…
Level 150!
Even in his current state, he wouldn't dare set foot inside a zone of that level. It wasn't just a matter of level disparity—there was a meaningful chance that Tier 5, world-class bosses lurked in those areas, and killing a Tier 3 player would be as effortless as crushing an ant.
Just as Shi Feng was racking his head over the situation, a faint pulse of magic fluctuation drifted from the distance, drawing his gaze toward its source. To the naked eye, all he could make out were ant-sized figures engaged in combat—the distance had to be at least fifteen hundred yards away…
"What's going on?" Shi Feng was genuinely bewildered.
Fifteen hundred yards—this was practically the limit of what a Tier 3 Class user's naked eye could perceive. At such a range, unless some cataclysmic grand-scale magic was being cast—something that could impact hundreds of yards of area—there was absolutely no way a player could sense even the slightest hint of it. Even a Tier 3 magic-oriented Class user couldn't manage that.
And yet here he was, able to feel the magic fluctuations coming from that direction. It was simply unbelievable.
