Whether it was the Red-Eyed Sword Saint's Legacy Guidance or a one-time Enhancement for Calamity's Edge, either option was an opportunity that came along once in a blue moon.
The Legacy Guidance could help a player unlock their Magic Body, and might even allow them to break through the 100% barrier entirely — it all depended on personal comprehension. A titled Sword Saint like the Red-Eyed Sword Saint, especially, stood at the absolute pinnacle in an era before any Sixth-Order god-class expert had emerged. Despite lacking overwhelming stats, he could rely solely on his own technique to fight heroes of the same order — even dragons.
A Legacy Guidance from such a powerhouse was therefore all the more precious.
As for the Enhancement for Calamity's Edge, it was equally invaluable.
The Enhancement permanently consumed a portion of the enchanter's own magic power, imprinting it onto the weapon to grant it a fraction of the enchanter's abilities. On the surface, the weapon's stats wouldn't change at all, but its raw power and any magical skill effects it carried would receive a significant boost — along with a hidden magic-power bonus.
An Enhancement from a titled Sword Saint was no small thing — it was roughly equivalent to upgrading an epic-grade weapon to a fragment of a legendary item.
A weapon on par with a legendary fragment was, to any major superpower's experts in the Divine Realm, practically a god-tier artifact. It could easily last a lifetime, since epic-grade weapons and equipment above Level 100 could be raised in level cap through special methods — though the cost far exceeded that of a single epic-grade weapon itself.
Still, for a weapon rivaling a legendary fragment, those costs were a trifle.
Just as Shi Feng sank deep into his deliberation, the system chimed once more.
System: The player has one minute remaining to make a choice. Failure to decide within the allotted time will be treated as an automatic forfeit.
With time running out, Shi Feng gritted his teeth and stepped forward to the Red-Eyed Sword Saint.
"Honored Sword Saint, I wish to receive your Legacy Guidance," Shi Feng said earnestly.
"Are you certain? You should know that you have already unlocked your Magic Body. I can see you've received Legacy Guidance from other powerhouses as well. Even if you obtain mine, it may not do you much good. On the other hand, that Calamity's Edge could grant you a substantial increase in strength." The Red-Eyed Sword Saint regarded Shi Feng with a calm, level gaze and posed the question once more.
"Yes, Honored Sword Saint. I am certain." Shi Feng nodded.
His Magic Body was indeed already unlocked, but for the road ahead, simply unlocking it to 100% was far from enough. Only by shattering the 100% barrier could he travel further down that path — and every powerhouse's path was different. Gaining as many Legacy Guidance sessions as possible would help him break through that ceiling.
More importantly, chances like this were once-in-a-lifetime. Whether he would ever encounter another was entirely a matter of luck, and if he let this one slip, it was gone for good.
After all, it had taken the Azure Sage's Legacy Guidance combined with a God's Heart just to reach 100%. Breaking past that afterward was exponentially harder. On his own, he had no idea how long it would take — he might never shatter the 100% barrier in his lifetime. His Magic Body was epic-grade, after all; its breakthrough difficulty dwarfed that of any ordinary Magic Body.
Without sufficient reference points, the odds were vanishingly slim — even with a God's Heart, it was far from guaranteed.
So he had no real choice.
As for the weapon Enchantment, sure, he could immediately obtain a weapon on par with a legendary fragment and dramatically boost his combat power. But Calamity's Edge was a shard of Solomon's Sword, destined to merge with the other five fragments in the future. Once that happened, the Enchantment's effect would vanish — it would be nothing more than a wasted Enhancement charge.
Besides, he already had Abyssal Edge in hand. He wasn't behind in the weapon department.
