As
Weapons had always been his greatest deficiency. Although both Rebellion Thunder and Abyssal had kept him ahead of the experts from every major superpower before reaching Level 100, once he crossed that threshold, the superpowers had increasingly obtained top-tier weapons, and the ones in his hands had grown decidedly ordinary for an expert of his caliber.
Abyssal, in particular, had become an outright weak link. If not for his other equipment and bloodline compensating, his base stats would have long since been surpassed by those monster-class experts from the superpowers.
But within the Divine Realm, fusing weapon fragments was no simple process.
It could only be described as tedious and complex.
The reason was that the process was tantamount to reforging the weapon from scratch — and this reforging wasn't simply forging a new weapon from nothing. Instead, it required merging the fragments of two weapons together first, and only then could the weapon be reforged. Without sufficient blacksmithing skill, attempting this risked destroying both weapons entirely.
Of course, the "destruction" referred only to the two weapons themselves — the original weapon fragments still remained.
The moment Shi Feng clicked the fusion button, both Abyssal in his hand and the Dark Ruin Blade on the stone platform simultaneously shattered, instantly dissolving into countless specks of pitch-black dust, revealing a rough hilt and a partial blade beneath.
Though these two weapon fragments had lost all semblance of form, the pressure they radiated was extraordinarily terrifying, making one's entire body tremble and recoil involuntarily. One could even faintly make out the phantom of a massive dragon lunging forward with its maw wide open, threatening to devour anyone who drew near.
"Fragments alone carry this much pressure?" Shi Feng stared at the two soul-rending weapon fragments, his heart filled with astonishment.
The pressure now hovering in midair was, in fact, far more oppressive than even the fully unleashed Abyssal. It was hard to imagine just how powerful this weapon had been before it shattered.
By his estimation, it was at minimum a Legendary-tier item.
At that thought, Shi Feng felt his nerves tighten further.
If it truly was a Legendary item, he would have to be far more careful. One misstep and the fusion-reforging would fail, and any subsequent attempt would require him to source materials on his own.
Legendary-tier materials were exceedingly rare within the Divine Realm. Even the superpowers from his previous life had struggled to gather a single set, let alone the current
Originally, after obtaining the Dark Ruin Blade, he had planned to seek out Seruora to handle the reforging. After all, a Master Blacksmith was someone capable of creating Legendary-tier items — reforging weapon fragments would have been child's play for her.
But the last time Abyssal had stirred up such a commotion that even the magic arrays in the Candlelight Trading Company could barely contain it. If the reforging generated an even greater spectacle, making it known to the entire world, he would be the one to suffer.
After all, what he held was a Magic Artifact — one prone to weapon backlash. During a backlash was when he would be at his most vulnerable. If experts from hidden superpowers chose that moment to strike, he would be in deep trouble. And as an NPC, Seruora would have no obligation to protect him. At best, the NPC guards might intervene, but by the time they showed up, it would be far too late.
It wasn't as though such incidents hadn't occurred in the Divine Realm before. During a Magic Artifact's evolution, certain players had assumed they were safe within an NPC city, only to be killed — and the compounded backlash from the artifact had completely ruined their character, forcing them to start all over again…
With no other choice, he had decided to perform the fusion-reforging right here in
The one small consolation was that he was a Master Blacksmith. Even without Seruora's assistance, he could still reforge the weapon.
Shi Feng then produced
Within the Divine Realm, fusing weapon fragments was straightforward — simply using magical power to repair them. The process was just somewhat lengthy, though no problems should arise along the way.
Time ticked away, one moment blending into the next.
One hour… two hours… three hours…
After a full four hours had passed, the fusion of the two fragments had barely reached 50%.
"What the hell?! What kind of weapon is this?!" Shi Feng exclaimed, watching the two fragments hungrily devouring his Magic Crystals, his head beginning to ache.
