Chapter 2470 Winds of Change

October 13, 2022 · 4 min read · 888 words

Star Fortress, Divine Will Tribe's temporary encampment.

After the Divine Will Tribe's army had swept through the encampment, not a single elemental monster remained in what had once been a stronghold guarded by Legendary creatures. Instead, the encampment was packed with players — all of them high-level, clad in formidable gear, and unmistakably among the Divine Will Tribe's elite.

Yet these top-tier players were filled with curiosity about Star Fortress, their eyes practically sparkling with barely restrained excitement.

Because Star Fortress had already become the focal point of attention for countless factions.

As the fortress guarding Star Valley — one of the Forbidden Lands of Life — its strategic value was simply immense. Not only could it save players the hassle of running back and forth, but it could also serve as a rest stop for recovery. More importantly, it would become the trading hub for the entire Forbidden Land.

Star Valley was vast, and none of the surrounding maps offered players any place to rest. Combined with the fact that Star Valley was a treasure trove of resources, it was practically a foregone conclusion that players coming here to level up and gather materials would conduct all their transactions at Star Fortress. The resources it would come to control in the future were simply beyond estimate.

What's more, as a fortress left over from ancient times, it possessed an exceptionally dense magical environment — something no other fortress in the outside world could match. For the Western Continent, where magical energy was relatively scarce, this was a rare and invaluable training ground.

Shi Feng could well understand the excitement of these Divine Will Tribe members.

As an ancient fortress, once Star Fortress was occupied by players, the magic arrays throughout the entire structure not only condensed vast quantities of magical energy, but that energy was remarkably gentle. Even a player with mediocre mana control could significantly improve their manipulation of magical power while staying here.

Though the effect was temporary, prolonged exposure to this kind of environment could lead to substantial improvements in mana control.

For the players of the Western Continent, who had always placed great emphasis on mana manipulation, this was an absolute paradise.

"Lord Black Flame, the Commander and the others have all arrived in the reception room. Please follow me."

Shi Feng hadn't been standing at the gate for long when a middle-aged man in knight's attire, at Level 106, approached him. The man appeared amiable and humble, but the aura of authority emanating from him was no weaker than that of any High Great Lord — his strength might very well exceed that of the Crimson Witch.

"I appreciate the trouble," Shi Feng said, studying the courteous middle-aged man with a quiet sigh.

Currently, the only people in Zero Wing who had grasped the Domain were himself and Yan Tianxing.

And yet, in just a single day, the Divine Will Tribe had produced yet another Domain expert.

There was no denying it — superpowers truly were superpowers. Their guilds were filled with hidden dragons and crouching tigers. If Zero Wing wanted to catch up, it would still take a considerable amount of time.

After Shi Feng finished speaking, the middle-aged man, who carried himself like a noble knight, led him toward the Divine Will Tribe's temporary residence.

Once inside, Shi Feng nearly stopped in his tracks.

The entire temporary residence had been completely renovated. Not only was every surface resplendent with gold and jade, but even the stone slabs on the floor were crafted from magic ore — a level of luxury that not even Zero Wing's headquarters could match.

Magic ore was a rare material. While it wasn't as precious as magic crystals, it contained a respectable amount of magical energy, and items fashioned from it could radiate mana, boosting the ambient magical density to some degree. However, the cost-to-benefit ratio was terrible, and even superpowers rarely used magic ore for something as extravagant as flooring.

Yet here, the Divine Will Tribe had used magic ore to pave the floors of what was merely a temporary residence. This wasn't just extravagant — it was practically wasteful.

But this alone spoke volumes about how seriously the Divine Will Tribe was taking this temporary encampment.

After all, if the residence changed hands, all that magic ore would be left behind — essentially a gift to whoever came next. That was precisely why most factions rarely bothered investing in temporary bases.

Before long, the knight led Shi Feng to the reception room on the top floor of the residence.

Three people were seated inside the modest room. Besides Macaffrey and the Crimson Witch — both of whom Shi Feng recognized — there was a female warrior clad in silver-gray light armor, a massive inscribed greatsword radiating waves of demonic energy strapped to her back. Her eyes were crimson, her hair golden, and her beauty was striking enough to command the gaze of anyone who looked upon her.

Though she simply sat there in silence, it was as if she had drained all the color from her surroundings. The entire world seemed to have shrunk to just her presence, leaving everything else a muted gray.

"The Mystical Eye Goddess? What is she doing here?" Shi Feng stared at the female warrior before him, momentarily stunned.
