System: Player has advanced to Master-class Mage, obtaining the Great Mage title.
The system notification chimed three times in succession, but Shi Feng paid it little mind. Instead, he closed his eyes slightly and focused on the mana within his Mana Body, then swept a sword through the air.
Secret Technique — Lightning Flash!
With a single slash, seventeen arcs of sword light intertwined in a dazzling display, erupting with crackling sounds as though countless bolts of lightning were rushing straight at the observer. There was no blocking it, no dodging it.
"No wonder Mages are called the number one supporting secondary class," Shi Feng murmured, gazing at the system notification with a hint of amazement. "So this is why."
Magic arrays were the foundation of manipulating magic. Even the crafting of many items required magic arrays, which was why a vast number of Divine Realm players took up magic arrays as a supplementary study — especially Master Blacksmiths and Master Alchemists. Without that knowledge, they simply couldn't go far down their respective paths.
What he hadn't expected was that after becoming a Master-class Mage, his control over his Mana Body would reach an entirely new level.
While operating multiple threads of mana simultaneously, not only did the mana circulation speed increase, making his entire body far more agile, but even his combat techniques received a boost. The only drawback was the need to divide his focus to manage the flow of mana through his body.
Of course, this drawback could be optimized over time. In the beginning, the multitasking felt awkward and unfamiliar, but once he grew accustomed to it, the impact would become increasingly negligible.
On top of that, the Great Mage title granted a 10% boost to mana manipulation and mental strength, making control of the Mana Body that much easier.
Now he had a better understanding of why Magic Grandmasters were so powerful, every single one of them.
Simply by virtue of their superior control over the Mana Body, the same combat techniques and magic skills would already be noticeably stronger. And that wasn't even accounting for the fact that once someone became a Magic Grandmaster, they could deploy certain basic magic arrays to assist and disrupt without any materials at all. The advantage was enormous. No wonder every magic-class player in the Divine Realm dreamed of becoming a Great Mage.
If he could get Water Ruby, Ziyan Liuyun, and Yi Luofei — along with the other magic-class members — to advance to Magic Grandmaster as quickly as possible, the jump in their power would be tremendous. They would become a formidable force for Zero Wing.
That thought drew Shi Feng's gaze toward the temple hall not far ahead.
Now that the final magic array had been broken, the High-grade Magic Array Compendium was within arm's reach. If he could obtain it, the chances of everyone advancing to High-level Mage and Magic Grandmaster would increase substantially.
As Shi Feng walked into the hall, the entirety of the temple chamber was laid out before his eyes.
The hall wasn't particularly large — roughly the size of two or three basketball courts — but it was lined on all sides with magic scrolls. They came in complete sets, ranging from intermediate magic arrays all the way up to high-grade magic arrays. Every single one was a magic barrier scroll, and the sight left Shi Feng momentarily stunned.
Magic barriers were something every major power desperately needed, especially intermediate-grade ones.
The high-tier Great Lord-level monsters roaming the Level 100 neutral maps were nothing like their pre-Level 100 counterparts. Basic magic barriers were powerless against them; only intermediate-grade barriers could hold them in check. Yet intermediate magic barrier scrolls were absurdly scarce — even Zero Wing didn't possess many.
But this single hall held over a hundred sets of intermediate magic barriers and a full twelve sets of high-grade magic barriers. It was nothing short of a grand vault of magic scrolls.
"With this many magic scrolls, it's no wonder no one in my previous life ever talked about the Magic Temple's second floor," Shi Feng said, surveying the treasure vault before him. He was beginning to understand why people had kept their mouths shut.
This many magic scrolls — selling them alone would bring in a fortune. Right now, every major power was starving for intermediate magic barriers. A single set of intermediate magic barriers could sell for over a thousand gold and people would still fight over it, let alone the value of keeping them for personal use.
