"A teleportation channel to the Western Continent?"
After Shi Feng finished speaking, Yan Tianxing and the others stared at him with undisguised astonishment and disbelief.
What was the Western Continent?
It was no longer a mystery to the major powers, because several superpowers on the Eastern Continent had already developed the ability to travel back and forth between the two continents. The resources they had obtained from the Western Continent were the envy of every other superpower.
The two continents of the Divine Realm each had entirely different cultures—not just different development paths, but fundamentally different heritages and vastly different resources. The potential profits were enormous.
As far as they knew, even something as basic as a player's daily expenses differed greatly.
Players on the Eastern Continent spent a large amount of gold coins, because the Eastern Continent's heritages were mostly about improving personal combat techniques. Battles put heavy wear on weapons and equipment, and repair costs were exorbitant. On the other hand, players on the Western Continent consumed massive quantities of magic crystals, because the Western Continent's heritages focused on the player's own body and the use of magic power. Players could channel magic crystals into themselves and their equipment to gain tremendous power, so their consumption of magic crystals far exceeded that of Eastern Continent players.
Magic crystals were an extremely scarce resource on both continents, which meant that prices on the Western Continent were generally much higher and competition far more intense. Conversely, the materials used to forge weapons and equipment were considerably cheaper.
On top of that, each continent had its own exclusive resources, and the potential profits were self-evident.
If Zero Wing could gain the ability to travel between the two continents, then becoming a superpower was only a matter of time.
"That's right," Shi Feng said with a nod. "I've obtained a lead on a hidden path. There's an ancient magical gate here that can connect the two continents. As long as we can open the magical gate, we'll be able to travel between them." To keep the others from growing suspicious, he threw out a casual excuse.
After all, every major superpower was currently scrambling to find a way to reach the Western Continent. With their vast manpower and resources, even the superpowers hadn't managed it yet—how could he simply claim to have found one?
"Guild Leader, is the teleportation channel stable?" Yi Luofei asked urgently.
The others were filled with curiosity as well. As for Shi Feng's story, not a single person doubted it. Many quests and passages in the Divine Realm were discovered through obscure leads, so it wasn't strange that he might have stumbled onto a clue leading to a Western Continent channel. After all, the superpowers that could already travel there had pieced together their own routes from fragmentary hints.
But compared to simply finding a lead on a Western Continent channel, what truly mattered was its stability.
If the channel could only be used once, the benefit would be limited—they'd just make a quick profit. But a stable channel meant they could keep earning indefinitely, right up until travel between the two continents became routine. The difference between the two was night and day.
One-use channels were hardly rare in the Divine Realm. Even some ordinary factions had stumbled upon them and made a fortune. But a stable channel was an entirely different story—they could be counted on one hand across the entire Eastern Continent.
"According to the lead I found, it's stable," Shi Feng said. "How it works exactly, we won't know until we open it."
Whether or not the channel was stable went without saying—otherwise he wouldn't have bothered coming all the way here. But as for the specifics, he truly didn't know.
This was a teleportation channel he had only heard about. He had never actually seen it or used it.
The Ten Saints Empire was the empire with the most known routes to the Western Continent. He himself was aware of nearly a dozen, and the largest and most stable of them were controlled by those massive organizations within the Ten Saints Empire—the channels most expert players routinely used.
Shi Feng wouldn't dare lay a finger on that largest, most stable channel. It involved a whole chain of quests, and most importantly, the manpower and resources required were staggering. Even two or three superpowers combined might not be able to handle it, let alone Zero Wing.
After weighing all his options, he had ultimately settled on the teleportation channel in the Demon Wolf Mountain Range.
This particular channel was extremely well-hidden, and had been secretly controlled by a dark faction for a long time. It wasn't until travel between the two continents became frequent enough that the wider world learned of it, making every major superpower green with envy.
