As Shi Feng departed the treasure zone, the already frenzied major factions grew even more frenzied.
In a span of barely ten seconds, twenty-six light orbs had vanished from the ocean's surface. The Storm King Serpent had only dropped a little over three hundred items in total — not enough for each faction to even get one — and yet Shi Feng had swept away more than a tenth of them in a single breath.
What made it even more infuriating was that Shi Feng had paid virtually nothing for it, while every major faction had lost numerous vessels. Some had even lost a large number of their Bronze Rank fast boats.
The overwhelming sense of injustice made every major faction hate Shi Feng to the bone.
"Kill him! We have to kill him!"
At that moment, several greedy superpowers abandoned the treasure zone entirely and prepared to fire their magic pulse cannons at the spot where Shi Feng had teleported.
The adventuring parties also saw this as an opportunity. The loot would be easy for the great superpowers to protect if it were concentrated in one area — but if it were scattered across two locations, even the superpowers would be stretched too thin, leaving gaps for the adventuring parties to exploit.
In an instant, every adventuring party brought out their trump cards.
Tier Four Space Lock Scrolls!
Tier Four Soul Track Scrolls!
Tier Four Weather Thunder Clouds!
Any adventuring party that could survive on Dragon Heart Island possessed resources far beyond an ordinary party. The ten greatest adventuring parties of Dragon Heart Island, in particular, each held resources on par with a semi-superpower. They might not have large-scale weapons of war like Tier One magic pulse cannons, but producing Tier Four magic scrolls targeting players was no great difficulty.
A Space Lock Scroll could seal off a region, preventing players from teleporting — meaning they couldn't use Town Return Scrolls to leave. A Soul Track Scroll could lock onto a player, making escape impossible for a set period of time. And the Weather Thunder Cloud was an immensely powerful magical barrier that trapped anyone inside.
All three scrolls were Tier Four. For players at their current level, breaking them was simply impossible.
"These people have lost their minds!" Long You Tianxia stared at the completely sealed sky and the formed magical barrier, his face ashen. "Is this really necessary against us?"
Tier Four magic scrolls were extraordinarily precious. Each one, while not worth quite as much as a single Epic-rank item, was worth at least half of one. And yet three consecutive Tier Four scrolls had been used without hesitation.
They were now trapped with no way out.
They couldn't use Town Return Scrolls, the entire area was shrouded in a magical barrier, and their auras were locked. There was nowhere to flee.
"Quite impressive, that kid — snatched twenty-six treasures in one go. Even our Thirteen Royal Courts might not end up with that many when all is said and done." The man shrouded in black fog beside Elder Wu gazed at the scene and let out a soft sigh. "But this is ultimately a contest between the great superpowers. Snatching food from the tiger's jaws is never that easy."
Even if those adventuring parties hadn't acted, the superpowers would have done the same.
It was no joke — Shi Feng had swept away that many treasures in a single breath, and they were picks of his own choosing. Even if they couldn't recover the very best items from the haul, whatever they did manage to seize would be no worse, since these objects could be roughly judged by their magical energy alone.
In other words, Shi Feng had single-handedly taken away at least a tenth of the total value of all these drops. How could they possibly let him leave alive?
"No self-awareness — nothing more than courting death." The woman shrouded in black fog beside him spoke with cold disdain. "Now he's tried to steal a chicken only to lose his rice. If he hadn't been so stubborn back then, he could have secured a spot in the Four Gods' Tower. But now he'll get nothing at all. Utterly foolish."
She had been deeply displeased with Shi Feng's attitude from before.
Their Thirteen Royal Courts were a truly super-tier guild, nearly a century old in the virtual gaming world, and they dominated the Eastern Continent. Countless factions vied for a connection with them, yet Shi Feng hadn't had the sense to appreciate that.
Now, seeing him trapped in a desperate situation, she felt quite satisfied.
Even a Tier Four Legendary monster of the same level couldn't simply shatter a Weather Thunder Cloud. In such a confined space, facing the wrath of every major faction, even a handful of invincibility skills wouldn't be enough.
"Guild Master Black Fire, this is bad," Qin Yin said, her expression grave as she watched the fully deployed magic circle. "With the Weather Thunder Cloud sealing us off, there's no way to leave this area. We've become completely exposed targets."
Locked on by thousands of vessels, even Anna wouldn't be able to hold them off. And with their souls tracked, diving into the sea would be useless.
"Quite thorough, the preparations these factions have made." Shi Feng swept a glance over the surrounding magical barrier and shook his head with a faint smile.
"Brother Black Fire, how can you still smile at a time like this?" Qing Zhu said anxiously, watching Shi Feng's smiling face.
