Shi Feng stared at the displayed data for the Frost Army Lord, his expression a mix of surprise and a hint of excitement.
Bloodline Lords were extremely unfamiliar to most players. However, bloodline creatures were something the top experts of the great superpowers knew a bit about. Bloodline Lords were essentially the evolved form of bloodline creatures — completely different from ordinary bloodline beasts. While bloodline beasts could only fight on instinct with their bloodline power, Bloodline Lords could harness and command their bloodline, no longer relying on mere instinct.
In other words, a Bloodline Lord could wield its bloodline power with deliberate control. The combat strength that such mastery unleashed was far more terrifying than instinctively channeling bloodline power.
It was analogous to a player learning combat skills. A combat skill's attack was far more powerful than a basic attack — even with identical stats, the combat strength the two sides could produce would be worlds apart.
Of course, Bloodline Lords were exceedingly rare within the Divine Realm. Gaining mastery over one's own bloodline was incredibly difficult. Shi Feng had only ever heard of Bloodline Lords before — he had never actually encountered one.
Running into a Bloodline Lord was a situation that was both dangerous and lucky.
Dangerous because a Bloodline Lord's combat power was extremely formidable, making it the king among monsters of the same level. Lucky because any Bloodline Lord, if slain, was guaranteed to drop a bloodline — one of the few ways to obtain one.
Everyone knew just how valuable bloodlines were. Even the most common one was worth roughly a fragment of a Legendary item. Its effects might not seem impressive at lower player levels, but as players continued to level up, the benefits would become increasingly apparent, building from a quantitative change into a qualitative transformation.
"Leader, this is a Level 90 World Boss — we're not actually planning to fight it, are we?" Gu Jiuji looked at Shi Feng and swallowed hard.
A World Boss!
Even in the Fire Dragon Empire, such creatures were incredibly rare. Plenty of superpowers had set their sights on World Bosses before, but they could only handle ones around Level 60 or so. They wouldn't dare touch a Level 70 World Boss.
Even then, the superpowers had suffered devastating losses trying to take down a single Level 60-plus World Boss, relying on attrition tactics and nearly being wiped out before finally bringing one down.
The World Boss before them now was Level 90. One swipe of its hand would probably paste a main tank like him into meat paste. Even for someone like Ke Le, who was a far better tank, he didn't think Ke Le could withstand it. After all, a Level 90 Grand Lord was an entire tier above a Level 90 Legendary monster — and a World Boss was even harder to deal with than an ordinary Legendary creature.
At that moment, Jing Wuming couldn't help but glance at Shi Feng as well.
He was certainly tempted by a Level 90 World Boss, but this was a Level 90 World Boss — something that current players simply weren't equipped to handle. A Level 90 World Boss was indeed terrifying. Its HP alone — approaching a billion points — was enough to make anyone despair. Just its passive combat recovery was ten million points every five seconds. If a team's damage per second couldn't exceed two million, they wouldn't even be able to scratch it.
But he had a Dark-Gold companion guard and an Epic companion guard on his side — something no other team possessed. On top of that, Ke Le was equipped with a Legendary item fragment shield, giving them a certain measure of confidence against a Level 90 World Boss. The only thing that had caught him off guard was the fact that the Frost Army Lord was a Bloodline Lord.
However, being a Bloodline Lord didn't actually add any stats to the boss — it simply elevated its combat technique and enhanced its combat strength. That didn't necessarily mean it was unwinnable.
Besides, he had no real path of retreat. The Frost Army Lord was the World Boss most likely to drop a Bronze Rank Shop Promotion Token. Without that token, he wouldn't even be able to afford the management fees for the Wanderer Shop. If the shop were reclaimed, whether he'd ever be able to buy one again was anyone's guess — after all, those things appeared randomly.
With that, Shi Feng began directing everyone into action.
"Ke Le, you'll be the off-tank for this fight. Everyone else, focus on maximum output," he said.
