"So I still can't fully control it?" Shi Feng felt a slight pang of disappointment upon hearing the system notification. "This Soul Fire really is difficult to deal with."

Only by fully mastering Soul Fire could he be free of worries, yet he never expected that even two Tier 3 Strange Fires would fail to bring Soul Fire under his complete control.

Tier 3 Strange Fires were comparable to fragments of Legendary-tier items in value — extraordinarily rare, with entire kingdoms potentially not harboring a single one. The difficulty of gathering two could well be imagined, and obtaining yet another Tier 3 Strange Fire… who knew when that would happen.

"To think you managed to get your hands on two Tier 3 Strange Fires in such a short time — truly remarkable." Xia Lian, clad in a crimson gown, glanced at Shi Feng and nodded. "Although you haven't fully mastered Soul Fire to halt the corrosion of the Soul Chains, the fusion of two Tier 3 Strange Fires has already given you a high degree of compatibility with Soul Fire. For the next three hundred days, you won't need to worry about being devoured by it."

"Benefit?"

Shi Feng looked down at the azure-blue flames engulfing his entire body, not understanding what benefit she was referring to.

At this moment, he felt a searing pain throughout his body. If not for his long habituation to pain, allowing him to endure it, any ordinary player would have been wailing in agony. More importantly, his mind couldn't focus at all — he probably couldn't even execute a single combat technique in his current state.

"You're blessed and don't even know it. This is the Soul Fire conducting a Soul Baptism on you." Xia Lian shot Shi Feng a sidelong glance and explained.

"This is the Soul Baptism?" Shi Feng's heart jolted with shock. "This is the advanced ability gained from mastering Soul Fire?"

He had heard of the Soul Baptism in his previous life. It was one of the rare methods in the entire Divine Realm that could enhance a player's Spiritual Power.

Spiritual Power was different from the Spirit stat. The Spirit stat boosted healing capabilities, while Spiritual Power was a hidden attribute in the Divine Realm — but in terms of importance, it far surpassed even Stamina.

In combat within the Divine Realm, two attributes were silently consumed: one was Stamina, the other Spiritual Power. When Stamina was depleted, a player could no longer move; when Spiritual Power was depleted, a player fell directly into a deep sleep.

The reason Spiritual Power was more critical was threefold. First, methods to increase Spiritual Power in the Divine Realm were exceedingly scarce — far harder to come by than methods to boost Stamina. The only ordinary approaches were to increase a player's base attributes or raise their Tier, both of which could marginally enhance Spiritual Power.

Second was the hidden capability of Spiritual Power, which players had only discovered after the Divine Realm had been open for a considerable time. The level of one's Spiritual Power also determined a player's state.

This state was akin to being in a high-mana environment. In truth, high-mana environments simply raised a player's Spiritual Power ceiling, which made the player feel wonderful — able to focus effortlessly, maintain absolute calm, and keep a perfectly clear mind.

Third and most importantly, the higher one's Spiritual Power, the greater one's control over their own body, making it easier to push the body to its absolute limits. This was why the higher a player's Tier, the more capable they were of performing feats that the normal human body could not achieve.

For example, complex and difficult high-level combat techniques were impossible at Tier 2, but could be executed at Tier 3.

For these three reasons, every expert in the Divine Realm was utterly obsessed with increasing their Spiritual Power. Unfortunately, methods to boost Spiritual Power in the Divine Realm were far too scarce — no less rare than fragments of Legendary-tier items. Whenever one appeared, the great superpowers would scramble to fight over it.

In his previous life, items that increased Spiritual Power had appeared several times at Dark Auctions. Even a mere 5% increase required trading a Legendary-tier item fragment to acquire, while items granting a 10% increase demanded an entire Legendary-tier weapon.

Shi Feng had never expected that he could now receive a Soul Baptism.

The amount of Spiritual Power increase from a Soul Baptism varied — the lowest was around 5%, while the highest could reach as much as 15%.
