"Holy crap! Just how high is his Strength stat?"
The Guardian Knight Lie Ren, who was standing at a distance and preparing to approach the Void Wyrm, stared at Ke Le standing before the creature, his heart filled with sheer amazement.
He couldn't believe that Ke Le had actually deflected the Void Wyrm's attack.
If it were him, equipped with the Dark Erosion set, he'd need to activate his burst skill just to stand a chance of deflecting the Void Wyrm's strike. Otherwise, he'd have no choice but to tank it head-on.
A single casual blow from the Void Wyrm had reshaped the terrain. The sheer force sent the five tier-2 MTs near Ke Le flying over a dozen yards away, and even the healing squad more than thirty yards behind them nearly lost their footing — a testament to how terrifying that power truly was.
For MTs, deflecting a boss's attack with a shield was nothing extraordinary for top-tier players. But this kind of deflection had its prerequisites: the gap in Strength between the two sides couldn't be too great, or rather than weakening the attack, the MT would simply be blasted away or crushed.
Yet Ke Le hadn't activated any burst skill at all. Relying solely on his base Strength, he had managed to deflect the Void Wyrm's attack. His Strength stat had to be absolutely extraordinary.
Not far away, Imperishable Warheart watched with equal astonishment.
He had already known from the Eclipse Throne that Ke Le, as a Guardian Knight, possessed incredible stats — but the Ke Le of now was worlds apart from the Ke Le of back then. If the current Ke Le were to challenge the Eclipse Throne again, it would be a walk in the park.
"Heal Ke Le! Everyone else, once Ke Le has secured aggro, move in according to plan!" Shi Feng commanded over party chat as he watched Ke Le close the distance.
He wasn't the slightest bit surprised by Ke Le's performance.
After all, Ke Le was equipped with a shield that was a fragment of a Legendary item, along with a level 70 Gold-grade set — Scorching Wind. Being able to hold his own against a level 60 world boss was perfectly reasonable. Of course, against a proper level 80 Fire Lord King, this still wouldn't be nearly enough. He'd have to rely on burst skills just to survive.
At Shi Feng's reminder, the front-line healing squad quickly began healing Ke Le and the other MTs. Meanwhile, the nine one-hundred-man teams that had circled around to the Void Wyrm's flanks closed in simultaneously.
The Void Wyrm was a world boss with devastating single-target damage, requiring extremely powerful MTs to have any hope of taking it down — much like the Fire Lord King, which crushed everything through raw single-target power. It was nothing like certain bosses whose individual attacks were mediocre but whose AoE abilities were terrifying, requiring multiple strong MTs to hold. And it certainly wasn't like the Emerald Tree Spirit — a middling boss that relied on a swarm of guardians for protection while it unleashed its ultimate from the backlines.
After a short while, Ke Le managed to lock down the Void Wyrm's aggro using his threat skills, and the rest of the forces launched their assault.
Melee fighters attacked the Void Wyrm's flanks while ranged attackers mercilessly hammered its head, disrupting its line of sight.
Hundreds of tier-2 experts unleashed their attacks upon the Void Wyrm, and a cascade of damage numbers sprang up above its head.
-6,064!
-7,348!
-5,541!
Almost everyone was dealing only a few thousand points of damage at most, leaving the crowd slack-jawed.
"How is its Defense this high?!" Imperishable Warheart's brow furrowed as he watched everyone's damage output.
Even his own attacks barely cracked ten thousand when he used tier-2 skills. Its Defense was leagues above other Legendary bosses. Against other Legendary bosses, as a tier-2 Berserker, he could easily deal twenty to thirty thousand damage.
At this rate, it would take an eternity to whittle down the Void Wyrm's health.
After five seconds of sustained assault, the group had finally managed to chip away just over 1% of the Void Wyrm's HP — only to watch it instantly regenerate back to full.
"How is that possible?!" Huan Yu exclaimed in shock as the Void Wyrm's health bar refilled completely.
She had no idea what the Void Wyrm had just done.
The rest of the group was equally baffled, but Shi Feng understood exactly what had happened. It was the Void Wyrm's passive skill — Self-Healing — which doubled combat regeneration effects, restoring 2% of its total HP every five seconds. On top of that, it had the passive skill Void Body, which reduced incoming damage by 50% and lowered the chance of critical hits by 70%.
And the Void Wyrm's total HP was a staggering 56 million. Two percent every five seconds meant 1.12 million HP restored per tick — equivalent to over two million HP recovered every single second…
