Chapter 1835: Profiting Big

January 17, 2020 · 4 min read · 876 words

The VIP reception room of the Candlelight Trading Company.

Feng Qianyu had brought Qing Huang along, while Immortal Warheart sat quietly in the lobby with Mu Lingsha, waiting.

"Uncle Warheart, are those things really as effective as you say?" Mu Lingsha asked with some worry when she saw that Shi Feng still hadn't arrived. "The guilds exploring the Dark Secluded Wasteland have already tried every method possible, but none of them can penetrate the inner region. And the Ghostwater corrosion in there is extremely potent—even with the Advanced Fortitude Potions we barely managed to get our hands on, they don't last long inside."

"You know we've already burned bridges with the Star Voyager Consortium and are in a full-scale war. The resources we can bring to bear are very limited. If these things we're about to spend a huge number of Magic Crystals on don't work, we're going to be in serious trouble."

Back when she'd asked Immortal Warheart to bring people to help Zero Wing, she'd thought it would just be a moderately difficult task. After all, Zero Wing was comparable to a first-rate guild, but their team strength was quite limited. Then Immortal Warheart had come back and told her that Zero Wing had achieved the first clear of the Eclipse Throne on Hell Difficulty.

That had genuinely shocked her.

She had never expected Zero Wing's main raid team to possess such strength.

Immortal Warheart had heaped praise on Zero Wing's Black Flame—something that was virtually unheard of even within their own guild. And after that, Immortal Warheart had gone on to say that Zero Wing possessed special items that could solve the environmental problems of the Dark Secluded Wasteland. That had surprised her even more.

Honestly, she wanted to believe that the things Immortal Warheart described would actually work. But she had spent no small amount of effort trying to find a way into the inner region of the Dark Secluded Wasteland, and every attempt had ended in failure.

Moreover, the fact that Zero Wing could produce a large batch of potions to counter the Ghostwater was simply too hard to believe.

After all, she had scoured countless locations and gathered who knew how much intelligence just to find a single bottle of potion that could resist the Ghostwater. For Zero Wing to produce enough for a hundred-person raid team—tell that to anyone and they wouldn't buy it.

"Don't worry, Miss Mu. Surely you can trust me?" Immortal Warheart said with a bitter smile.

Over the past few days, Mu Lingsha had been constantly pressing him about these matters, and no matter how he explained, she couldn't put her mind at ease. He couldn't really blame her, though.

After all, War Soul Undying was now in a full-scale war with the Star Voyager Consortium's Star Ring Guild. Resources were being consumed in massive quantities every day. Purchasing one hundred sets of All-Purpose Magic Equipment and one hundred bottles of Elf Silver, with delivery within three days, would come to forty-five thousand Magic Crystals. For War Soul Undying in its current state, that was no small sum.

If it didn't work, they'd be devastated.

When Mu Lingsha heard Immortal Warheart say that, she didn't know what else to say. All she could do was hope that what Zero Wing was offering would actually be useful.

"Sister Qianyu, War Soul Undying seems awfully worried. Could they be having second thoughts about buying?" Qing Huang glanced at the visibly anxious Mu Lingsha and couldn't help but giggle. "If they don't want to buy, we can take it all ourselves. That would make our trip to the inner islands of the Sea of Death much easier."

"Hardly," Feng Qianyu chuckled. "War Soul Undying and the Star Ring Guild have already fought several major battles in the Dark Night Empire recently. They're in desperate need of weapons, equipment, and war machines. But the high-resource maps in the Dark Night Empire that can produce war machines are precisely the ones both major guilds are frantically fighting over. If they want to get their hands on them, their only option is to venture into those harsh-environment high-resource maps, and even then, their odds of success are better there."

"War Soul Undying needs the All-Purpose Magic Equipment and Elf Silver more than anything right now. There's absolutely no way they won't buy."

Qing Huang considered this and had to agree.

The harsher the environment of a map, the better the treasures hidden within. Just like how the other superpowers on Heavenly Thunder Island had all reaped considerable rewards after exploring those dangerous islands—each one eager to organize large forces to venture inside. But obtaining items to counter the environmental hazards? Getting a small quantity was one thing, but acquiring them in bulk was virtually impossible.

The idea that Zero Wing would actually part with so many environmental-counteracting items—no matter how you looked at it, that was unthinkable. Even if they bought them and didn't use them personally, they could always resell for a tidy profit.

Just as the two were quietly discussing this, the reception room's door burst open with a thunderous bang. A resolute-looking man in a black cloak strode in, immediately silencing everyone present as heads turned his way.
