Chapter 1797 — Hell Difficulty

December 10, 2020 · 5 min read · 1,011 words

"The Eclipse Throne?" Feng Qianyu's beautiful eyes widened as she stared at Shi Feng in disbelief. "That's a super-large team dungeon on a neutral map!"

Though she didn't know much about the Eclipse Throne, she was well aware that super-large team dungeons on neutral maps were universally harder than those within kingdoms and empires.

If they used the same tier of super-large team dungeon as a benchmark, it would be at least mid-level difficulty, possibly even high-level.

Conquering such a team dungeon wasn't something any of the current mega-powers had even considered.

"Guild Leader Black Flame, we agreed to help your Zero Wing Guild, but let me be clear up front—everyone we've sent from Unyielding War Soul this time is elite. If you're planning to raid a super-large team dungeon, we can only commit to two attempts. Any more than that will set back our level grinding." Bumie Zhanxin, standing nearby, had completely given up on trying to reason with Shi Feng and laid out the hard limit of what they could offer.

Even conquering a super-large team dungeon within the kingdom was already a massive question mark, yet here Shi Feng was talking about tackling one on a neutral map. The man had to be out of his mind.

They all knew that when the major mega-powers raided large team dungeons, they could generally only take down the first few bosses at best. Transplant that to a super-large team dungeon within a kingdom, and they probably couldn't even clear the first boss—let alone one on a neutral map, where a dozen wipes might not be enough to put a single boss down.

And while death in a team dungeon didn't directly cost you a full level, losing ten percent of your experience every time you died in a super-large team dungeon was no joke.

At the level they had all reached, ten percent of an experience bar—even fast-grinding experts needed seven or eight hours to recover. If they spent three or five extra runs here, they'd fall a full day or two behind the main forces of the other mega-powers.

"That's fine," Shi Feng nodded.

Asking another guild's Tier 2 experts to help run dungeons was naturally not an open-ended arrangement. Setting a cap on attempts was standard practice—even Feng Qianyu's side had the same condition.

"No problem?" Bumie Zhanxin looked at Shi Feng with some surprise at how calm the man remained.

The reason he had emphasized the limited number of attempts was precisely to make Shi Feng understand that they had no patience to waste on pointless exercises, and that he should treasure every opportunity. Yet Shi Feng's attitude showed not the slightest tension or furrowed brow—as if what Bumie Zhanxin had just said simply didn't exist.

In truth, it wasn't just Bumie Zhanxin who was startled. Even Feng Qianyu began studying Shi Feng more carefully, curious about why he would spend hard-won manpower on something like this.

If they pooled the strength of all three guilds, they might actually have a shot at clearing a level-fifty hundred-player team dungeon. But instead of seizing this golden opportunity, Shi Feng wanted to attempt something that was utterly impossible.

"Now that everyone's here, I'll reorganize the party. All command decisions from this point on will be mine. Any objections?" Shi Feng looked between Feng Qianyu and Bumie Zhanxin.

Neither had any complaints—they were here to assist, and their role was to support.

Shi Feng quickly merged the three groups into a single two-hundred-player raid, then led the team aboard an airship bound for the Gate of Eclipse.

Meanwhile, inside an upscale bar in Star Moon Kingdom's capital, a large crowd of players clad in black cloaks had gathered, sipping cool fruit wine and chatting with easy laughter. Yet every single one of them radiated a cold, killing intent, and some even exuded a thick aura of bloodlust.

"Captain, our scouts just reported that Zero Wing's main raid and senior officers have suddenly headed for the Gate of Eclipse. Do we move now, or should we notify the other adventurer parties?" Gu Deng Du Zang approached a heroic-looking man who was drinking Fiery Flame Fruit Wine, his voice tight with excitement.

This heroic-looking man was none other than Black Shark—the captain of the Dark Hunters, the adventurer party that had earned a fearsome reputation across the Dark Night Empire.

"So they've finally left their lair?" Black Shark took a sip of his wine and chuckled lightly. "Forget notifying the other parties. I'm not in the habit of sharing a gift like this. Send the order to everyone in the party—grab the gear and move out immediately. We can't let any other party beat us to it."

"Yes!" Gu Deng Du Zang licked his lips in anticipation. He had been waiting for this moment for a very long time.

The entire Dark Hunters adventurer party sprang into action, heading straight for the Gate of Eclipse.

The Gate of Eclipse — Sun Chaser Fortress.

Every day, a steady stream of airships flew in and out of this lone settlement at the Gate of Eclipse. Because the Gate sat at the junction of several kingdoms, the number of players converging on Sun Chaser Fortress actually exceeded that of many royal capitals.

When Shi Feng and his team disembarked from the airship, the sight before them was a bustling main street packed with players hawking goods and forming parties—its liveliness no less impressive than Star Moon Kingdom's own Star Moon City.

Though Sun Chaser Fortress was thriving, NPC fortresses didn't allow players to purchase land plots, so the major guilds had little enthusiasm for the place. Instead, it had become one of the few havens of freedom for independent players, drawing far more of them than guild members.

To avoid drawing attention, Shi Feng had everyone don black cloaks. After a quick reorganization of their formation, he ordered everyone onto their mounts, and the massive party rode out of Sun Chaser Fortress in imposing formation. Even so, they still turned heads on the main street.
