"How is her power so strong?" Xuancang stared fixedly at Mu Xiaoxiao, his mind filled with disbelief.
He was a Berserker renowned for his strength, and he had already advanced to a second-tier Class. Even against an enemy Shield Warrior or Guardian Knight of the same tier, he was confident he could overpower them in raw strength.
But Mu Xiaoxiao was merely a Swordsman.
Yet after a single exchange, he had actually come out on top— And before Xuancang could recover from his momentary shock, Mu Xiaoxiao launched her next attack.
Wind Chasing Sword!
In the blink of an eye, Mu Xiaoxiao appeared before Xuancang, who was over ten yards away. The twin swords in her hands twisted like whips, yet moved with the fluidity of living creatures — like a pair of cunning serpents. Over ten snake shadows lunged toward Xuancang.
Battle Technique — Snake Shadows!
The air swarmed with crisscrossing snake shadows, making them utterly impossible to track all at once. Their attack trajectories were complex and ever-shifting, nothing like a straightforward slash with no mid-swing adjustments. These snake shadows changed constantly — even if you locked onto a trajectory one instant, it would shift the next, rendering all your parry preparations worthless.
Though Mu Xiaoxiao couldn't make all ten-plus snake shadows shift at will, she could keep four of them in perpetual flux, making their trajectories nearly impossible to predict.
The ten-plus snake shadows hurtled toward Xuancang, and his expression turned grim.
Even he couldn't fully track all of them. The only option was to unleash his ultimate — Chaotic Qi Slash — and there was no way he could risk a normal melee exchange.
Clang, clang, clang— A rapid series of clashes echoed through the surroundings.
Even though Xuancang had unleashed a Chaotic Qi Slash that produced over twenty attack waves, further amplified by raw strength, the collision still sent both him and Mu Xiaoxiao stumbling back two or three steps.
"How is this possible?"
The onlookers from Heikadi stood with their mouths agape.
Everyone present was either an elite or a top fighter of Heikadi. Though the exchange between Mu Xiaoxiao and Xuancang appeared even on the surface, they all knew Xuancang had come out at a disadvantage.
After all, Chaotic Qi Slash was a Berserker's ultimate technique.
He had used his ultimate just to achieve a draw — in a normal fight, the outcome would have been obvious.
The sight filled the Heikadi members with an indescribable sense of dread toward Mu Xiaoxiao.
Xuancang was a genuine second-tier Berserker, a fighter ranked among the very best in Heikadi. And now he was being suppressed by a member of some backwater expedition team?
If word of this reached the other top fighters in Heikadi, they would think it was a joke.
At this point, not only the Heikadi members but even Xuancang himself wore a bewildered expression.
He couldn't understand how Mu Xiaoxiao could be this powerful.
"How can this be! I'm a second-tier Berserker!" Xuancang's eyes held none of his earlier composure as he faced Mu Xiaoxiao — only the looming threat of death. "She's only ranked sixth in Cold Wind City's strength rankings! How can her base stats and combat skill be this high?"
Not far away, the members of the Shura Expedition Team were equally stunned.
"How can Mu Xiaoxiao be this strong?" Feng Ran stared at Mu Xiaoxiao — completely unscathed, effortlessly suppressing Xuancang — unable to believe his eyes.
He knew exactly how strong Mu Xiaoxiao was supposed to be. She was only a little stronger than him, and by a very slim margin. But the Mu Xiaoxiao standing before him now might as well have been an entirely different person.
"Mu Xiaoxiao's mastery of Snake Shadows is still too rough," Jing Wuming commented coolly. "If she had full control, that last exchange would have taken at least half of Xuancang's life."
