Shi Feng walked straight into the small town without a single patrolling NPC blocking his path.
However, when he arrived in front of the guild headquarters, a middle-aged man in dark blue robes bearing a silver sword emblem on his chest appeared before him.
This man was a senior executor of the Adventurer's Guild. Though only a Tier 2 class, his level had reached a staggering 150.
"Respected Guardian, as per your request, this small town has been fully constructed. If everything is to your satisfaction, please inscribe this town's name on the Town Token," the NPC senior executor said to Shi Feng in a measured tone.
System: Please name the town. If no name is chosen within five minutes, the system will automatically assign one.
"Name it, huh?"
Shi Feng took the Town Token, pondered for a moment, then inscribed the town's name on its surface.
Silver Wing!
The Star Moon Kingdom already had Zero Wing City, so naming another town "Zero Wing" was out of the question. As a neutral-map town, it was bound to grow and become widely known. To ensure that anyone who came after would know the town belonged to Zero Wing — and to boost the guild's reputation — the only sensible choice was to name it after the guild's emblem: the silver-white six-winged insignia.
System: Congratulations, player! Naming successful. The town has been renamed Silver Wing Town.
The moment Shi Feng completed the naming, every player observing the town from the surrounding area received a system notification.
System: Silver Wing Town has been discovered.
At the same time, those who looked more closely at Silver Wing Town noticed that the system information panel now displayed it as belonging to the Zero Wing Guild. It was currently in a closed state, not yet open to the public.
As long as the town remained closed, any outsider who dared approach would be cut down on the spot by the guarding NPCs.
"So it really is Zero Wing's town."
"Zero Wing's set now. With the Ancient Ruins right next door, every guild and player interested in them will converge on Silver Wing Town. There's no way it won thrive."
"Exactly. The Ancient Ruins contain the teleportation gate to the Ancient City. Apart from Silver Wing Town, there's no other rest stop anywhere near the ruins. Just collecting repair fees alone would make your hands go limp."
…
For a time, the members of various major guilds and adventuring parties could only look on at the Zero Wing Guild with envy.
Many guilds had recently shifted their focus to neutral maps, which meant that every small town on a neutral map was worth a fortune. And a town beside the Ancient Ruins? Three or four ordinary neutral-map towns probably couldn't compare to Silver Wing Town.
The intelligence on Silver Wing Town was quickly relayed up the chain to the higher-ups of every observing guild and adventuring party.
"Silver Wing Town, is it?" Not far away, Moyu Feiyu — an elder of the Crimson Emperor Guild — stroked his white beard thoughtfully.
"Uncle Moyu, a lot of guilds are trying to cooperate with Zero Wing right now. Should we send someone to reach out as well?" Beside him, a Tier 2 Berserker in dark crimson armor with a pitch-black double-bladed battle axe slung across his back asked in a low voice.
"No. We wait." Moyu Feiyu shook his head. "Zero Wing may have built the town, but the Beast Emperor is no one to underestimate. Right now the town has NPC guards, so there's no problem. But once the protection period expires, that's a different story altogether."
"Besides, this is neutral territory, not the Kingdom's borders. The stakes involved with Silver Wing Town are too high. Even if the Beast Emperor doesn't make a move, I'd wager the other superpowers won't let it slide. Whether Zero Wing can even hold Silver Wing Town at that point is anyone's guess."
The Tier 2 Berserker beside him immediately understood. He glanced toward Silver Wing Town with a sympathetic expression on his face.
The Divine Realm was just that cruel.
