As the Blood Blade Demon was struck by the emerald-green beam, a Poison status immediately appeared above its head.
-22,347 Once the damage popped up, Shi Feng clearly felt that controlling the Blood Blade Demon suddenly became much more difficult. Its body felt as though it had been filled with lead, impossibly heavy.
"What a fearsome poison." Shi Feng checked the Poison status and was slightly stunned.
Paralysis Poison. Deals 30,000 damage every 0.8 seconds. While poisoned, the entire body is paralyzed, reaction speed drops by 40%, attack speed and movement speed drop by 30%. Duration: 12 seconds. Maximum stacks: 10.
In the Divine Realm, most poisons only drained an enemy's HP. Inflicting a Paralysis status was extremely difficult, let alone a stacking one. Even though the Blood Blade Demon had decent resistance that could reduce some of the damage, getting stacked ten times would almost certainly mean death.
The stacking of the poison didn't just multiply the damage — it also caused speed to plummet drastically, making it increasingly difficult to fend off the Dark Venom Scorpions' attacks. On top of that, the Dark Venom Scorpions themselves possessed impressive combat capabilities. The mutated Dark Venom Scorpions, in particular, operated at the level of expert players, and their five tails gave them a massive advantage in both offense and defense compared to ordinary experts.
Seeing the Dark Venom Scorpions launch yet another wave of attacks, the paralyzed Blood Blade Demon couldn't keep up at all. It was hit once more, and a barrage of damage numbers ranging from tens of thousands to hundreds of thousands popped up. Its HP dropped at a visible rate, and the Paralysis Poison instantly stacked to four layers.
Just the 120,000 damage every 0.8 seconds alone was brutal, and with reaction speed already down 60% and attack and movement speed down 50%…
Even at a higher level, the Blood Blade Demon wouldn't last long before the swarm of Dark Venom Scorpions finished it off.
"Good thing I came prepared with the Ancient Scroll." Shi Feng glanced at the mutated Dark Venom Scorpion, then commanded the Ancient Spirit to begin chanting magic.
Second-tier spell — Wind of Healing!
A pale green storm immediately formed around the Blood Blade Demon, wiping the Paralysis Poison status clean away. Its lost HP — over 10% of its total — recovered rapidly, and in short order it was back to full.
Once the healing ended, Shi Feng had the Ancient Spirit cast a third-tier spell — Earthen Vines.
Vines suddenly erupted from the ground beneath the Dark Venom Scorpions, binding every single one of them. The scorpions thrashed and tore through vine after vine, but new ones kept emerging to restrain them, drastically reducing their mobility. Every second, each scorpion also took 50,000 points of damage, and the effect lasted a full twenty seconds.
For monsters with no crowd-control removal skills, this was devastatingly effective.
With the scorpions restrained, the Blood Blade Demon swung its war blade and began picking them off. Its basic attacks only dealt a little over 40,000 damage each, but any skill easily hit for over 100,000. Meanwhile, Shi Feng activated the Flame Domain.
Though Shi Feng's stats had been significantly reduced by the suppression of the World's Power, wielding the Holy Sword Thunderrend gave him a 100% damage bonus against Dark-attribute creatures — making him their natural bane.
Damage numbers of over 200,000 popped up one after another, increasing every second. After one round of Flame Domain, the Dark Venom Scorpions' collective HP plummeted by nearly thirty percent.
Then Shi Feng unleashed Thousand Light Flowing Blades, and another spread of 200,000-plus damage filled the air.
The assault wasn't over yet. The continuously chanting Ancient Spirit launched a third-tier forbidden spell — Stellar Fury. Beams of starlight rained down from the sky, each wave far more powerful than Shi Feng's Flame Domain. A single wave dealt five hundred to six hundred thousand damage, and unlike ordinary area-of-effect magic, it targeted every enemy within range. Seven waves struck in succession, not only slashing the Dark Venom Scorpions' HP further but also inflicting the Heavily Wounded status on each one, reducing their stats, defense, and combat power by a considerable margin.
This caused the Blood Blade Demon's damage output to spike dramatically. Damage numbers of seventy to eighty thousand popped up with every strike.
