Shi Feng looked at the system notification and couldn't help but frown slightly.
The Soul Pursuit curse was one of the more common curses in the Divine Realm.
Dealing with it was troublesome.
No matter where a player went, the soul clone would automatically materialize nearby.
He now had a clear understanding of the Tyrant Soul's strength. Armed with a Holy-Demonic Artifact, its raw attack power was no lower than any other Tier 5 class. Killing it would require a hundred-man Tier 3 team and special means at that — it was simply not a boss anyone could handle at the current stage.
Although the soul clone that appeared initially was far weaker than the original, its strength grew with each manifestation. Eventually, it would become exactly as powerful as the original.
There were only two ways to deal with this curse. The first was to kill the original. The second was to keep destroying soul clones until the original weakened enough to be killed. There was no other viable option.
The first was clearly impossible. The second would require a prolonged struggle against the Tyrant Soul, which would be a huge hassle for his future development.
Just thinking about having to face the Tyrant Soul over and over made Shi Feng's head ache.
If the encounters were spaced three to five days apart, he could manage with some ease. But he hadn't expected the Tyrant Soul to appear once every single day — meaning he'd have to destroy its soul clone every day, at unpredictable times. There was, of course, a solution: stay inside an NPC city and rely on the NPCs there to deal with the Tyrant Soul. But he couldn't very well hole up in an NPC city doing nothing all day.
Shi Feng could only shake his head with a bitter smile. He never thought opening a Magic Crystal Chest would bring this kind of trouble. What exasperated him even more was that he'd only taken five items from the chest — and there had to be five or six more inside. If he'd gotten everything, being hunted down might have been worth it. But to be chased like this after getting only half…
Still, Shi Feng didn't dwell on it. He first had everyone leave Lost Town and wait quietly outside, while he began to examine what he'd actually obtained from the chest.
As a gold-tier Magic Crystal Chest, the items inside surpassed those of an Epic-grade chest. He'd only ever heard about such chests before — he'd never actually seen one.
And of the Holy Twelve Great Elementalists, only Luanmo Tiankui had ever obtained a gold Magic Crystal Chest, and he'd said absolutely nothing about its drops. So aside from Luanmo Tiankui, no one knew what items a gold Magic Crystal Chest could yield.
After a brief moment of checking his inventory, Shi Feng's expression shifted from delight to shock.
"So this is what a gold Magic Crystal Chest holds?" Shi Feng stared at the five items in his inventory, unable to contain his excitement.
Of the five items he'd picked up, three were pieces of equipment. One was an Epic-grade plate armor helmet, the Crown of Terror. Another was an Epic-grade shield, the Shield of Terror. These two Epic-grade items were genuine pieces of the Terror set — and with two pieces collected, he'd already unlocked the two-piece set bonus: a passive skill called Steadfast Body, increasing Stamina by 10%, Vitality by 10%, and reducing damage taken by 20%.
An Epic-grade set!
For the current great powers of the Divine Realm, obtaining even a single Epic-grade weapon or armor piece was difficult enough, let alone an Epic-grade set.
Even ten years into the Divine Realm's timeline, Epic-grade sets remained the pinnacle equipment among the great superpowers. Legendary-grade item fragments were simply too rare, and actual Legendary-grade items were even more so.
Although he'd only collected two pieces so far, the two-piece set effect could still substantially boost a player's combat power — especially by enhancing their Vitality.
