In the Divine Realm, treasure chests were fairly common opportunity rewards. Compared to slaying powerful monsters, they could yield items of even higher quality.
Treasure chests were generally made of wood or metal, and even Dark Gold-rank chests were no exception. A chest crafted from magic crystal was simply extravagant — one could only imagine its rank must be quite high.
Items from even a Bronze-rank chest could rival the drops of a same-rank Leader monster, let alone Iron-rank, Mythril, Gold-grade, Dark Gold, and beyond.
Moreover, as players ventured into higher-level maps, the number of treasure chests dropped sharply. Especially in maps above level fifty, even Bronze-rank chests became extremely rare.
Before level fifty, a Bronze-rank chest was equivalent to the precious drops of a Leader monster. After level fifty, a Bronze-rank chest was equivalent to a Lord-rank.

In the Divine Realm, a silver magic crystal chest was equivalent to Gold-grade and Dark Gold-rank. A gold magic crystal chest, according to legend, was above Epic-rank. And a purple magic crystal chest was above Quasi-Legendary rank.
Of all the magic crystal chests Shi Feng knew of, he had only ever seen silver ones. He had never laid eyes on a gold magic crystal chest. However, there were rumors that Luanmo Tiankui — one of the Twelve Great Elemental Sages of the Divine Realm — had established his position among the Twelve precisely because he had opened a gold magic crystal chest. And once he had entered their ranks, he had never fallen from that position, unlike the others who were periodically replaced.
As for what Luanmo Tiankui had obtained from the gold magic crystal chest, no one knew.
