"Jimo, tell me I'm not dreaming." Hei Zi slapped Jimo Ruxue on the shoulder and pointed at the Golden Fish that had already been crippled.
Jimo Ruxue stared blankly, nodding woodenly.
More than the shock of watching the Golden Fish's HP plummet, Jimo Ruxue was stunned by Shi Feng's throwing technique. All he could see was a blur of hand after hand—so fast he couldn't even make out the shape of Shi Feng's fingers—yet over a dozen Frozen Shadows shot out one after another, practically rivaling a submachine gun.
Beyond the terrifying speed, the accuracy was equally jaw-dropping. Every single Frozen Shadow struck the cursed Golden Fish's relatively soft lower flank with pinpoint precision. If Jimo Ruxue tried it himself, landing even one Frozen Shadow on the Golden Fish would be hard enough, let alone throwing out over a dozen and having every single one hit the same spot.
"Once I can reach that level of skill, I'll be satisfied." Jimo Ruxue watched Shi Feng's almost surreal throwing technique, completely mesmerized and unable to look away.
"Stop standing around gawking and catch the crippled Golden Fish!" Shi Feng called out urgently.
Only then did Hei Zi and Jimo Ruxue snap out of it, immediately pulling out magic nets to scoop up the crippled Golden Fish.
One… two… three…
In just thirty short seconds, Shi Feng had already crippled two or three Golden Fish. That kind of explosive speed even caught Faust off guard, and he couldn't help but feel a pang in his heart.
However, once the damage amplification wore off, the curse effect faded, and the Dark Sky Frenzy buff ended, the catching speed dropped off sharply. They had to wait for Wind Thunder Flash, Earth Splitting Slash, Flame Thunder Burst, Dark Sky Frenzy, and other skills to come off cooldown before launching the next burst.
Averaged out, they could capture a little over five Golden Fish per minute.
That came out to roughly three hundred Golden Fish per hour. In less than four hours, they could rack up a thousand—completing what had seemed like an impossible task.
Time ticked by, little by little.
Before they knew it, over four hours had passed.
"We're rolling in it! We're rolling in it! Jimo, how many did you catch?"
"618. You?"
"Haha, I've got more than you! I've got 645 here. Between us that's 1,263—we've already hit the thousand-fish mark for that Legendary fragment exchange!"
"Captain, keep going! There's still some time left—maybe we can grab another hundred or so and exchange for an Dark-Gold item."
Hei Zi and Jiro Ruxue were having the time of their lives. Watching the number of Golden Fish in their inventories climb higher and higher, they couldn't stop grinning from ear to ear.
The only downside was that Shi Feng attacking these Golden Fish didn't grant any skill proficiency or experience points.
Under normal circumstances, killing this many level-20 special elites would have leveled them up two or three times over, easy.
But Shi Feng didn't mind. Hei Zi and Jimo Ruxue had no idea just how precious a Legendary fragment was. For a long time to come, they probably wouldn't come across another one. Spending a day or two—let alone a few hours—to obtain the Legendary fragment "Dragon's Sacred Breath" was nothing at all.
With a Legendary fragment in hand, the boost to one's power wasn't just a marginal improvement—it was a quantum leap. Once equipped, even facing the very top players, one would be overwhelmingly, decisively stronger.
