After rejecting the communication request, Shi Feng resumed his search for the swamp hippo.
"He actually rejected me." Nan Lang stared at the rejection notification, irritation bubbling up inside him.
Normally, people with status and standing would bend over backwards to chat with him just to build connections. Running into someone like this was an absolute first.
But his superiors had already given the order to contact Shi Feng, so he had no choice but to swallow his pride and keep trying.
After reporting his findings about Shi Feng and the flames to his superiors, the Underworld had analyzed the fire's effects and immediately discovered that the flames were extraordinarily precious — with over a seventy percent chance of being an Epic-tier item. They wanted to talk to Shi Feng, and they were determined to get their hands on those flames.
Nan Lang took several deep breaths to calm himself, then sent another communication request to Shi Feng.
One attempt after another, rejected time and time again.
"Damn it, I don't believe it. If you've got the guts, keep rejecting forever." Nan Lang angrily initiated yet another voice call.
"Truly annoying." Shi Feng rejected the communication again and switched his system settings to block calls from strangers.
Once he toggled the setting, the world suddenly felt a whole lot quieter.
"Captain, I've found something really strange over here — a river flowing through midair! There are a ton of golden fish swimming in the silver stream. Every single one of these golden fish is a level-twenty Special Elite!" Jimo Ruxue suddenly announced in the party chat, his voice brimming with barely contained excitement.
"A whole school of level-twenty Special Elites? You've got to be kidding. Jimo Ruxue, are you sure you're not seeing things?" Hei Zi didn't buy it for a second. Those were Special Elites — far more powerful than regular Elite monsters.
Special Elites excelled dramatically in a single aspect. It could be speed, it could be strength, it could be magic. They were also exceedingly rare — not many more common than Rare Elites, let alone showing up in a massive group.
"I'm serious! If you don't believe me, check out the screenshot I took."
Shi Feng pulled up the image. Sure enough, just as Jimo Ruxue had described, the place looked like a paradise on earth — breathtakingly beautiful. It was nearly impossible to imagine that the gloomy, damp Silent Swamp harbored a location like this.
Golden fish glinted in the silver river, hundreds of them at least, shimmering with brilliant light.
"Golden fish?" Shi Feng stared at the golden fish drifting through the river and fell into deep thought. Suddenly, a possibility struck him. "What are your coordinates? I'm heading over right away."
When Shi Feng and Hei Zi arrived at the silver river, they discovered that the river was moving — albeit very slowly. Jimo Ruxue had been trailing it the whole time, which was how Shi Feng and the others managed to find it.
"So it really is the Star River Basin," Shi Feng said with a grin.
The Star River Basin was an exceedingly rare phenomenon in the Divine Realm. It typically appeared in maps for level-fifty players and below, and anyone fortunate enough to encounter it was considered incredibly lucky — because it represented opportunity.
He had heard that some players had obtained Gold-grade items through the Star River Basin, and there were even rumors of players scoring Epic-tier gear, leaving others green with envy. Though those rumors were probably too good to be true.
"Brother Feng, how do we deal with these golden fish?" Hei Zi winced the moment he laid eyes on the golden fish in the silver river.
Golden Fish, Special Elite, Level 20. HP: 100,000.
Never mind the level suppression or what kind of attack and defense they possessed — a hundred thousand hit points alone was enough to make anyone despair.
"These golden fish are in a river flowing through midair," Jimo Ruxue said. "I tried attacking them earlier, but I couldn't even reach them. Relying solely on Hei Zi's magic attacks, the damage we deal probably wouldn't even keep up with their natural combat regeneration." He paused. "Captain, do you have any ideas?"
"Let's search the area around the river first. There might be something useful nearby," Shi Feng suggested.
This was the first time he had ever seen the Star River Basin with his own eyes. If luck was on their side, they might walk away with a huge haul — maybe even one or two Gold-grade items.
"Got it."
Hei Zi and Jimo Ruxue began scouring the area surrounding the Star River Basin.
