Chapter 1471: Legendary-Grade Drops

January 17, 2020 · 3 min read · 622 words

"We did it!"

"Did we win?"

"No way — we actually took down a Legendary monster!"

The battered and exhausted party stared at the motionless Titan War General, each of them overcome with excitement. Some even wondered if they were dreaming.

After all, the gatekeeper of the Life Forbidden Zone, the Great Snow Ravine, was merely a Level 70 High Grand Lord — and even that was enough to keep every player in Frostwind City from passing through. He was the invincible king who blocked them all.

Yet now they had defeated a Legendary monster even stronger than that king. How could they not be thrilled?

As the Titan War General's health bar hit zero, its body shattered into countless motes of starlight that scattered across the ground, accompanied by item after item of gleaming gold loot.

The drops rained down like a downpour, and in moments the floor was littered with them.

System: Congratulations on the First Clear of the Temple Guardian! Rewards doubled. Title earned — Temple Champion.

The experience bars of every party member surged as though they had gone mad.

"What insane experience!"

Shi Feng watched his own experience bar skyrocket and could hardly believe it. His level had already reached 58, and the amount of experience required at that point was enormous — significant jumps were nearly impossible. Yet now his 95% bar had filled to full in an instant.

He didn't just level up to 59 — his experience kept climbing like crazy.

59, 10%… 30%… 60%…

It didn't slow until it hit 85%, and even then it continued to creep upward, eventually reaching 99%. Just when it seemed to have stopped, it pushed past the threshold and landed him squarely at Level 60.

Shi Feng wasn't the only one. Everyone else had leapt up at least two levels. Jing Wuming had jumped straight to 52, while Gu Jiuji and Anye Kuangxiang both reached 53.

After the Divine Realm's multiple evolutions, the experience distribution system for party play had been overhauled. Higher-level players who tried to carry lower-level ones found that the low-level players received far less experience — a headache for anyone relying on power-leveling services.

But compared to the explosive experience gains, Shi Feng was far more interested in the loot and the title he had received.

"Temple Champion?" He tapped open the system notification for his title reward.

Temple Champion — Blessed by the Ancient Temple. Reputation gain increased by 20%. Teleportation costs halved.

"Half-price teleportation and a 20% boost to reputation gain? No wonder so many guilds love hunting Temple Guardians," Shi Feng murmured in mild surprise.

The Ancient Temples were famous throughout the Divine Realm. Many players enjoyed traveling back and forth to the other worlds — not just for the profit, but because the other worlds contained unique resources. However, the teleportation fees at the Ancient Temples were steep, and even elite players couldn't afford to teleport frequently.

More troublesome than the fees, though, was the travel itself. While the Ancient Temples did have teleportation gates, those gates only connected the Divine Realm's continent to the other worlds. You couldn't teleport to any other location, nor could you teleport in from elsewhere.

That meant players who wanted to enter or leave an otherworld had to run all the way to the Ancient Temple on foot. The temples were always located in remote areas, swarming with monsters along the way, making the journey incredibly time-consuming.

But there was a solution — raising your reputation with the Ancient Temple.

Once a player's reputation reached 1,000 points, they could purchase a Temple Emblem at that temple. The emblem allowed instant teleportation to the temple at any time, saving enormous amounts of travel time.
