Chapter 1306: The Unforgivable

January 17, 2020 · 3 min read · 690 words

The instant Berenwoka collapsed to the ground, a brilliant golden radiance flashed across Shi Feng's body.

His level skyrocketed directly from Level 50 at 82% to Level 51 at 4%—far more experience than he'd gained from killing two Tier 3 demons combined.

Immediately after, a system notification chimed.

System: Congratulations, player, on killing the Fallen Berenwoka. You may now collect your reward, the Alchemy Hand, from the Alchemist's Association.

"So he was a Fallen. No wonder the experience was so generous." Shi Feng read the system notification and suddenly understood, feeling both relieved and fortunate.

The title of "Fallen" was rarely seen in the Divine Realm. It was more like a wanted poster issued by the human race—far more dangerous than those great sinners among the dark players. Typically, one had to destroy an NPC city to earn that title.

A being capable of destroying an NPC city naturally possessed terrifying combat power. Just from the fact that Berenwoka could use advanced defensive battle techniques, it was evident that he was extremely powerful. If not for the Magic Suppression effect, Shi Feng would likely have been torn to shreds.

With Berenwoka's death, a trove of items exploded onto the ground. A quick glance told him there were over fifty pieces…

"This NPC was loaded!" Shi Feng stared at the scattered loot covering the floor, stunned.

Although the vast majority of the drops were various gemstones, none of them were ordinary. At minimum, they were Tier 3 attribute gems, and among them were several rare gems.

Like Magic Gems—once inlaid into equipment, they increased the player's mana pool by 3%, up to a maximum of three. A single one on the market was worth two hundred gold, and they would never become obsolete.

There were also Magic Barrier Gems—inlaid into equipment, they formed a layer of magical barrier on the player's surface, reducing damage taken by 2%, up to a maximum of three. They were mainly used on MTs, and their market value was even higher than Magic Gems at four hundred gold apiece.

Agility Gems—inlaid into equipment, they increased the player's physical attributes by 1%, up to a maximum of three. Their market value was arguably the highest of all, at a thousand gold per gem. Known as "Thousand-Gold Stones," obtaining even one could make an ordinary player overnight rich. But befitting their price, Agility Gems were extremely difficult to come by. Even in his previous life's Shadow Guild, the entire guild had only managed to acquire eleven. They were ultra-rare gems.

He'd only just killed Berenwoka, and four Agility Gems had dropped…

That quantity instantly matched one-third of what the Shadow Guild had collected in his previous life. On top of that, there were six Magic Gems, five Magic Barrier Gems, along with various other Tier 3 attribute gems and rarer gems—easily worth over ten thousand gold.

Beyond the gemstones, Berenwoka had also dropped three additional items. Two were equipment: one was a Level 60 Gold-grade ring called the Chanter's Ring. Its stats were average, but once equipped, it increased spell completion by 2%—a stat any caster class would dream of.

The other piece of equipment was a cloak called the Alchemist's Wish.

Though it was merely a Level 50 Gold-grade cloak with rather poor base stats, it possessed two passive skills that every alchemist desired: Mental Focus and Soul of the Alchemist.

Mental Focus allowed the wearer to achieve a state of intense concentration. It might seem insignificant, but when actually crafting items, its effect was comparable to being in a high-magic-density environment.

Soul of the Alchemist was even more powerful—it increased alchemy success rate by 3% and crafting speed by 30%.

With these two passive skills, it would be a godsend for any alchemist. Rapidly increasing proficiency would be a piece of cake, and it would even help players advance to Master Alchemist and Grandmaster Alchemist.

"The Alchemist's Wish could serve as a perk for the chief alchemist." Shi Feng smiled faintly.

Whether for a trading house or a guild, if you wanted members to improve quickly, you needed healthy competition—and competition required generous benefits as motivation.
