"He's dead!"
The players watching from a distance wore expressions of utter disbelief, unable to accept what they were seeing.
Hit by so many Slashes of Darkness, even an agile assassin would have found it nearly impossible to dodge them all. Yet
It was simply unbelievable!
"Wait, don't tell me he's an NPC?" The burly man who had tried to mediate earlier stood with his jaw hanging open.
But while everyone was still reeling in shock, the members of Sea Region Home had already recovered. They rushed to surround Shi Feng, forming a human wall. The only way out would be to leap over them — but players couldn't move in midair, making themselves easy targets.
"You little punk, you're looking to die! You dare kill one of ours? Just wait until you're sent back to zero!" The level 43 Shield Warrior leading the group was somewhat surprised by Shi Feng's performance, but in his eyes, the guy had simply used a skill to dodge a magic attack. He turned to the level 30 players nearby and ordered, "You four, attack together! I don't believe he can dodge with skills again!"
In an instant, the remaining four level 30 players each pulled out second-tier magic scrolls and began chanting incantations.
This time, there were a full four second-tier spells — both single-target and area-of-effect — all hurtling toward Shi Feng. The players surrounding him simultaneously scattered, leaving him absolutely no room to dodge.
"Let's see you escape from this one!" The level 43 Shield Warrior said with a cold smirk, watching Shi Feng.
They knew the rules of in-town player combat inside and out. As long as the caster didn't lock onto a target, the system wouldn't register it as a player-versus-player attack. During that window, if the target attacked first, the system would flag it as the target initiating combat. So the one being bombarded by magic scrolls could only fight back once locked onto — not only a passive position, but also extremely difficult to dodge or block.
Normally, you could only use a life-saving skill to evade or tank the hits. Shi Feng had already used one once. Now, facing four magic scrolls with no life-saving skill left, the only outcome was death.
"Want to run? You'd better stay put."
Shi Feng glanced at the scattered players and cracked a faint smile. Wanting to play rules games with him — he'd been doing this ten years before they were born. He sheathed his longsword, pivoted, and with a subtle pull, tugged every scattered player back toward him.
All at once, the players who had spread out were drawn back to Shi Feng's position, forming a wall around him as though they were his personal guards.
"Damn it! He's trying to drag us down with him!" The level 43 Shield Warrior hadn't expected Shi Feng to have enough strength to physically haul them all back as human shields. Dodging was no longer an option — he could only activate his life-saving skill and try to tank the second-tier magic head-on.
Boom, boom, boom...
A chain of explosions erupted. Only four quick-reacting players managed to activate their life-saving skills and barely survive. The other eleven were obliterated by the second-tier magic, and even the survivors were clinging to slivers of health.
"What the hell just happened?!" Everyone who witnessed this was completely dumbfounded. "An illusion? Friendly fire?"
Sea Region Home had used this exact same trick against another expert player before — wiping him out instantly. But now, their own members seemed to have lost their minds. Instead of scattering away from the incoming magic, they had been pulled toward the center like puppets under a spell.
And somehow, Shi Feng — the very person Sea Region Home had been trying to kill — was already standing more than ten yards away, observing the entire scene like a bystander.
