The ghosts were swarming in from all sides.
Shi Feng immediately activated Wind Walk, his speed surging dramatically as he sprinted toward the run-down house.
"Wraaargh!"
A Level 15 Fierce Evil Spirit—Elite rank—let out a piercing shriek, instantly drawing even more Cursed Evil Ghosts to surround the house until it was completely sealed off. Under the Fierce Evil Spirit's command, they rushed into the building in an orderly fashion.
The house was small and in complete disarray, dust flying everywhere, while the main door could barely accommodate two people entering side by side.
Just as the charging Cursed Evil Ghosts began squeezing through the doorway— A small Basic Frost Grenade detonated at the entrance, sending waves of freezing air outward and locking down everything within a ten-yard radius. Over fifty Cursed Evil Ghosts in front of the house were frozen solid, unable to move, each taking 440 points of damage and left with less than half their HP. This also meant the other Cursed Evil Ghosts couldn't push into the house to devour Shi Feng.
The Frost Grenade could freeze for five seconds. Shi Feng seized the opening and unleashed Wind Thunder Flash—three arcs of lightning lanced out through the doorway. But the level suppression was too severe; the total damage on a single Cursed Evil Ghost didn't even reach one hundred points.
System: Wind Thunder Flash proficiency increased by 3 points.
Because these Cursed Evil Ghosts were so high-level, using skills to attack them boosted proficiency quickly—three points every time.
Shi Feng was waiting for the Frost Grenade's cooldown anyway, so he used the Cursed Evil Ghosts to grind proficiency.
Earth Splitting Slash!
Blazing Thunder Burst!
AoE skill after AoE skill crashed into the Cursed Evil Ghosts. The damage was pitifully low, but skill proficiency was skyrocketing.
After cycling through all three skills, he tossed another Frost Grenade, and all fifty-plus Cursed Evil Ghosts died at once, dropping a good number of copper coins and trace amounts of Soul Essence, which converted into a massive wave of experience points.
The first wave of Cursed Evil Ghosts was dead, but the next wave was already lunging forward.
Shi Feng waited for them to reach the doorway, then hurled another Frost Grenade to freeze them again. If his skills were off cooldown, he used them; if not, he waited for the grenade's cooldown and then cleaned up.
Hundred Ghost Town had an endless supply of Cursed Evil Ghosts, and the Fierce Evil Spirits kept shrieking to attract even more. The area outside the house was already packed wall-to-wall with Cursed Evil Ghosts and Fierce Evil Spirits.
Without several hundred people, clearing out these monsters was practically impossible. But Shi Feng stayed put inside the house, methodically clearing them with Frost Grenades. The efficiency was far lower than what a few hundred players could achieve, but it was safe, and he could grind skill proficiency at the same time—the best of both worlds.
Batch after batch of Cursed Evil Ghosts fell, and Shi Feng's experience points and skill proficiency kept climbing steadily.
In under five minutes, he hit Level 8.
Though he'd killed an enormous number of Cursed Evil Ghosts, for the entirety of Hundred Ghost Town, what he'd slain was barely a drop in the bucket.
Once he reached Level 8, the experience from killing Cursed Evil Ghosts took a noticeable dip, but each one still awarded 4,200 XP. His leveling speed was faster than a rocket—every wave he cleared sent the experience bar jumping forward. Anyone watching would've had their eyes pop out of their skulls.
What took other players an hour or two of grinding to inch their experience bar forward, Shi Feng achieved every few minutes. His leveling speed was dozens of times faster than theirs.
