Although the Demon God Baimeng had placed a seal on this item, the Golden Sacred Mark had reawakened it. The Demon God's seal could be broken by absorbing divine power. If the holder of this item dies, it is guaranteed to drop. Anyone who does not hold the Sacred Mark will be consumed by demonic power.
Before Shi Feng could celebrate for long, a system notification rang in his ear.
System: The Demon God Baimeng has detected the awakening of the Soul Orb and has issued a bounty order to all players of the Dark faction. If the Soul Orb leaves a three-yard radius of the Sacred Mark, it will be teleported back to Baimeng by demonic power.
"Are they really taking it this seriously?" Shi Feng muttered, speechless at the system notification.
This notification essentially meant that the Soul Orb could not leave his person and had to remain in his inventory at all times. Yet if he died, the Soul Orb would drop for certain — and afterward, it would return to the Demon God Baimeng's hands. On top of that, the bounty order issued to all Dark-faction players was an enormous threat.
Since it was a bounty order, there had to be some special method that allowed Dark-faction players to locate the Soul Orb — much like the Golden Sacred Mark. In other words, the moment he left an NPC city, there was a high chance he would be ambushed by Dark-faction players.
If that was the case, the situation was incredibly unfavorable for him.
His movements had always prioritized secrecy — he didn't want anyone to know his whereabouts. The Soul Orb was essentially a tracking device. But if he didn't carry it, the hard-won Treasure fragment would be gone.
"Is my only option to go to the War God Temple?" Shi Feng said with a headache.
The War God Temple had tasked him with collecting the Seven Treasures. If he found a Treasure and handed it over to the War God Temple, the quest would be completed — but he would lose the Treasure in the process.

Even though they weren't weapons or equipment, their abilities were beyond comparison with any Epic or Legendary item. To hand one over right after finally obtaining it — that was far too great a price.
