Rangers, Elementarists, Warlocks, and Summoners lined both sides of the woods — several dozen in total.
The spells and arrows they unleashed flew like a solid wall, bearing straight down on Watercolor Rose and her group with no gap to dodge through.
Boom, boom, boom...
A series of explosions erupted, sending dust billowing into the air, and everyone felt a fierce gust of wind brush past their cheeks.
"Is that it?" Wu Xia, watching quietly from the side, said in surprise. "Could I have been wrong? These people really aren't the upper echelons of the
Such an attack might be impossible to tank head-on, but for skilled players there was no need to. They could simply dodge. Ranged attacks weren't instantaneous — the system always drew a trajectory prediction line, and there was a window between launch and impact.
"So they're all just trash. Guess Zero Wing's so-called experts aren't anything special!"
The members of the
But as the dust gradually settled, the smug looks on their faces hardened into grim expressions.
The blasts had carved out a massive crater in the ground. But the crater was semicircular — as if an invisible wall had stood between the blasts and Watercolor Rose's group, and not a shred of damage had crossed it.
"It actually blocked them?!" Wu Xia stared at the unbelievable sight, her gaze sharpening.
A faintly translucent barrier shimmered in front of Watercolor Rose. Then, like glass, the barrier cracked and scattered to the ground.
"Ziyan, that Absolute Barrier of yours is seriously impressive — blocking that many attacks at once. When we face boss ultimates in the future, we'll be counting on you," Bei Feng Diaodi said with a grin.
"The barrier skill I learned is only Tier 1. At most it can block Tier 2 abilities. Right now it's only useful in player-vs-player fights," Ziyan Liuyun replied, shaking her head.
Even so, the revelation dealt a heavy blow to the Ghost Shadow Legion.
They had considered the possibility that Watercolor Rose's group might dodge outright, but they had never imagined she and her team could tank the entire barrage head-on.
"Look out — scatter!" Wu Xia shouted when she noticed an Elementalist behind Watercolor Rose beginning to chant.
As an Elementalist herself, she understood their kind inside and out.
Even before the magic circle had fully formed, she could judge what spell was being cast from the initial gathering of mana alone. And even if she didn't recognize the specific spell, she could still gauge its destructive power.
From the chant behind Watercolor Rose, Wu Xia realized with alarm that this was a large-scale destruction spell — and it was already too late to stop it.
The Ghost Shadow Legion members heeded Wu Xia's warning and bolted immediately. Their own danger-sense instincts were screaming at them — if they didn't run now, they were dead.
"Thinking of leaving? Isn't that a little late?" The Elementalist let out a soft laugh and raised one delicate finger toward the sky.
A streak of azure lightning shot skyward in an instant, and a massive double magic circle crackling with blue-green light materialized in midair, covering an area of forty to fifty yards.
The circle fired a beam of azure light straight down into the rear ranks of the Ghost Shadow Legion, then expanded outward, swallowing one fleeing player after another.
"Damn it — it's too fast!"
Wu Xia activated Blink but still couldn't escape the ever-expanding beam. Gritting her teeth, she activated Frost Barrier, granting her immunity to all damage — but rendering her completely immobile.
When the beam finally dissipated, the entire area it had covered was nothing but scorched, black earth, still billowing with thick plumes of smoke.
The Ghost Shadow Legion members who had been at the front were frozen in shock.
The apocalyptic scene was terrifying. If they hadn't charged ahead earlier, they would have been reduced to ash by now.
"That's insanely powerful!" Bei Feng Diaodi muttered under his breath. "Sis Watercolor, who on earth is your friend?"
He had seen large-scale destruction spells before, but never one with such a vast coverage that unleashed this quickly. This was a first.
A single strike had wiped out more than half a hundred-man raid in an instant. Anyone watching would have felt their heart stop.
It was as though in the face of a large-scale destruction spell, all combat technique and numerical advantage were nothing but smoke.
"She?" Watercolor Rose glanced back at Banxia Qingcheng behind her and smiled. "Just a battle maniac, that's all."
