"In a closet full of blue work uniforms, how could there possibly a red outfit drifting around? Unless it's not clothing — it's a 'person' wearing red."
The moment he'd entered the duty room, Chen Ge had sensed something wrong with the wardrobe. He'd searched it immediately, but his Yin Eyes had turned up nothing unusual.
"Why can't my eyes see them?"
Chen Ge thought of the left eye that Chang Wenyu had brought out of the haunted school: "Maybe that eyeball can see what this school really looks like. Too bad the left eye is in Chang Gu's eye socket, and who knows where he's gone now."
The "Door" had been opened — Chang Gu could very well be somewhere in this school right now. But the campus as seen through his eyes was probably nothing like what Chen Ge was looking at.
"If I could find Chang Gu, the two of us cooperating would make things much easier. There'd be more room to maneuver, too."
Chang Gu was the ideal teammate for Chen Ge in this school. They were both from outside the Door, their objectives aligned, their interests identical. The key question was whether Chang Gu could even stay alive in a place like this.
For an ordinary person, this school was like the very bottom of hell.
"He has the left eye — he can see things I can't. As long as he's careful, he should have a chance of surviving."
Finding Chang Gu in such a vast campus would be incredibly difficult. Chen Ge wouldn't waste time going out of his way to search for him. In truth, he understood perfectly well that if he did find Chang Gu and gained his help, he'd also have to shoulder the risks Chang Gu carried with him.
Two people together meant more options — but also double the danger.
After leaving the duty room, Chen Ge picked up the pace. He realized he'd been too optimistic before.
This experimental building wasn't just dangerous on the third floor — the entire building was terrifying. It was just that the third floor might be the most hopeless part.
"I still underestimated how dangerous this place is. Right now, my eyes are only seeing what the scene wants me to see. Every blood door opens onto a sea of crimson — this place can't be any different!"
If the horror of this school were an iceberg, Chen Ge was currently exploring only the tip that jutted above the waterline. How much lay hidden beneath the surface, he had no idea.
He strode quickly down the corridor. On either side were all manner of laboratories he'd never heard of. He didn't stop to investigate — if the lab's name had nothing to do with art, he moved on immediately.
He'd nearly reached the far end of the hallway when he suddenly spotted a few characters on the door of a room: Paint Storage.
"A whole room dedicated to storing paint?"
Paint could be used for painting, but it could also be used to coat the surface of mirrors. So when Chen Ge saw those words, he didn't go in right away.
"The notes said the first person to die in Room 413 was an art student. It's possible he entered this storage room during his lifetime."
Chen Ge gripped the door handle. He applied force slowly. Before he could push the door open, a sharp pain erupted in his chest!
*Ding!*
He clenched his teeth hard to keep from crying out. He lifted his shirt and glanced down — a deep, small hole had been punched into his chest by a nail.
"It's already targeting my heart. I can't put off dealing with this curse any longer. If a nail hit my heart like that while I was running, it would absolutely be fatal."
When he'd lifted his shirt, the nail had fallen to the ground. There was no blood on it.
"It hurts more and more."
Chen Ge bent down to pick up the nail. With his head down, just as he was about to reach for it, his gaze swept across the corridor behind him.
